Some of us, including me, were optimistic about Amara Darboh for exactly that reason. 😬
Sigh. Yeah, I remember the jubilation I felt when watching Darboh’s highlight video after that pick. Way to bring me back to earth.

The object wasn't to pee on your parade. The sample size of one player who didn't become who we thought he would become is way too small for us to discard the possibility that Harbaugh prepares players well for the NFL. We just have to be careful not to think it's guaranteed that their Harbaugh pedigree will lead to tremendous NFL success, as the Darboh story reminds us.

FWIW, I think taking players from places like Michigan is a pretty good idea, and that might be a valid tiebreaker if you have two players on which your draft ratings are virtually identical, but one of them played college football at Michigan and one of them played in, say, a Kliff Kingsbury college offense.
