He looked to be laboring, even turning his head with the motion of the throw...like he was trying to get more velocity in doing so. Didn't seem to help much and just 7 games in, he might have told on himself. The LBs will start nipping at him like hyenas would a wounded water buffalo. The secondary circling like vultures.
Eli's mentally damaged and Peyton physically. I predict an unusually un-merry X-mas at Archie's house this year.
I noticed the forcing of his throws last year during their first game last season. He obviously was rusty and his technique did improve but, against the Colts last week he fatigued pretty quick. As a matter of fact, I just told a Denver fan that Denver fans need to be realistic and temper their enthusiam. Peyton isn't going to be putting up numbers like he did at the start of the season. He just doesn't have the arm/body to keep that pace. They better find a running game soon because if they don't it's going to be ship that starts to sink rather fast at the end of the season/playoffs.
You're telling them right, IMO. Peyton doesn't have (or trust) the running game to pick up his slack. The competitior that he is, it is possible he could be offering diminished returns. The more he puts on his shoulders, the quicker, IMO, they will be to their expiration date.
You and I saw the same thing last year. When I first saw Peyton throw I was like...damn, thank god he didn't get on that plane to Seattle. Then, he started looking his old self but now we FF to a full year later and I see that same lack of velocity on his ball. Like a puncher / boxer that's lost his power, his own deflated confidence could be his ultimate un-doing. The Broncs would be wise to treat Peyton like a pitcher, limiting his throws and resting him whenever possible. But then, he may have just had a bad night. Only Peyton knows for sure. I do wish him well and should we meet, I hope for him to be @ full strength. Don't want to hear any excuses from Camp Elway.
