He has been incredibly successful. However, AGAIN......it doesn't make it right when you're up 24 and you stop going for the throat. The team was blowing them out, at some point you have to adjust your coaching. There is nothing wrong with blowing a team out.

Your complaint I think is misguided. Why are the players never to blame? It's always just the coaches fault.. nevermind that it's the players who have to execute..
Fact is the execution sucked.. we didn't get first downs and thus didn't sustain drives and thus choked away a lead. If we don't go 3 and out the first 2 drives of the 2nd half things might have been different.

I never once said the players were not at fault. They need to make the plays as well.
We are 6-2, enough arguing over the same crap over and over again. Just because I don't agree with letting up with a big lead doesn't make me less of a fan and/or somehow a Carroll "hater" :roll:

As far as the leadership taking blame,thats what real leaders do. Just once I would like to see RW tear into his lineman when they play like the start of the 2nd half.

Carroll says it was his fault and these guys say different...the coaching is the common denominator though . like it or defend it .

Jezuz Ray, think about what he's saying....He's taking the heat for the mistakes that other Coaches & PLAYERS make.....It's called -------> "Coach Speak"<------

It’s also called leadership. You should never throw your own people under the bus in public.

To my eyes, it looked like we decided to run straight into their stacked boxes the first two series of the 2nd half, rather than adjusting our playcalls to the defense. We got stuffed each time on the running play. The Fieldgulls article does mention one of those times very clearly; I swear it seemed like it happened at least once each series.

We did try to run the ball a few times in the first couple series. After dominating the LOS in the first half it would be stupid not to try a few runs. Atlanta showed nothing that indicated they could stop it. That should have been the gameplan to put the game away but Atlanta was the better team in the second half.
