Just to clear this up cause now I'm not sure, Percy has to be "activated" to the 53 man roster, but doesn't have to be "active" for gameday?

correct. has to be part of the 53, but doesnt have to be part of the active 46 on gameday.

I don't really WANT Harvin playing this week.

The guy hasnt played in over a year in a game. I would rather him shake off some rust against the vikings, take a bye week, then be fully ready to go against the Saints.

Theres bound to be some miscommunication and timing issues that might go sour his first game back. Rather it be against the vikings then the Saints.

Like others said, he has to be active this week or else he goes on season ending IR. Everything we've heard/seen so far indicates he wasn't going to sit out this season. Hasn't he also been practicing anyways? I highly doubt he sees more than one pass go his way if he even sees the field against the Vikings, but it'll be nice to think about screen passes that become 80 yard touchdown runs :D

To answer the bolded part...he has practiced at least once, but hasn't been practicing most days. He has been working out and getting some reps but not actually practicing during team drills....at least that's what I keep hearing from pete and the local media the past few weeks. Seems like they are taking it extremely slow with him. They want to make sure that he is absolutely 100% and not risk him too soon.

He should be on the field this week. If he's healthy, he should be out there. Does he need 40 snaps? No. But 15? Sounds good.

Pumped to get Harvin back if true, but probably more excited to get Okung and Breno back.

I hope he's able to play this weekend and start getting some snaps (even if it is just a limited amount), I'll just be sad that I'll be on a plane and will miss his first game!

Percy Harvin - WR - Seahawks

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Percy Harvin (hip) is "absolutely planning to play" in Week 11 against the Vikings.
ESPN's Adam Schefter had similar reports Sunday and Monday. The Seahawks activated Harvin from the reserve/PUP list this afternoon. Coach Pete Carroll says Harvin will practice Wednesday and "how he responds" will determine if Harvin plays against his former Vikings teammates. The expectation is that Harvin will play "limited" snaps this week before ramping it up after the Week 12 bye.

Apologize to Schefter NOW!

Doesn't really change my opinion. It still comes down to how Pete and the trainers feel about it after a week of practice. Whether or not Percy is juiced to play doesn't really mean much. I do hope he makes it, though.

I can see him being activated, but not play one bit. Wouldn't blame them either.

I'd be apprehensive about bringing him back against a frustrated Viking team. He didn't leave on the best of terms. I'd hate for Allen's jealousy (that Harvin's a Hawk and Jared's not) cause him to go after a Percy Harvin that's not seen the field in 12 months. I'm not exactly worried about it, but some heavy ass practices vs. the best D in the league should serve him almost as well. Yes, I know there's no substitute for live football, but I think Harvin's situation differs from most. With his history of injuries, I'd like to see him in games where he is more needed. But I could be wrong, too.

I don't think they are too upset about it these days. Harvin's replacement is leading the league in return yardage and doing pretty well on a rookie salary. Harvin on the other hand has collected a boat load of cash but has yet to play a snap. The longer he sits the more the vikes are going to laugh.

No, I'm not "really" concerned about Jared Allen. You see, we are a very good football team and it's possible Jared Allen might have wanted to play on this very good football team. So saying Allen might vent on Harvin, who now plays on this very good football team, was said tongue in cheek (which means jokingly).

But am I really concerned about Harvin coming back too early and getting reinjured? Hell yes. I won't attempt humor this time and just say I doubt we will need him against Minnesota so it is un-important to me that he plays against them. In the end, I am confident Pete will do what's best for the team.

I think he's activated but they will see how a full week of practice effects him again, with adreniline and full speed cuts and hits of a game I don't think they risk him till he shows a week of steady practice without discomfort afterwards.

He's still guessing, just like last week. We'll know by the end of the week. I think if there are any doubts Percy will just be inactive. Why not? Bye week after this. Full go against the Saints on MNF.
I doubt he'll be full go his first game back, or even the first few. Just having him on the field will effect the opponents game-planning deeply. We may not play another game we need to keep the top seed, so we might not strictly need him all that bad before the post season. I just want to see him plugged in for the SB run.

Agreed. If I could wish for anything, it would be for him to be dressed for SF. Even if he doesn't see action, as L.O.S. suggests, the threat of him taking the field will be enough to warrant serious attention / game planning from Harbaugh.
