And it wouldn't matter.

If Tate brings us a SB, he deserves whatever he gets.

Then you do what you need to in order to keep him. Including cutting Harvin if it came to that.

This isn't about Tate, it is about Harvin.

We need his contribution. If he contributes then we made a wise choice. If not, then it was stupid/foolish.

Ultimately, we paid for potential. Potential wins you nothing. Results do. The reason we are all talking about Tate is that he has actually produced results. Harvin thus far has produced excuses but apparently he has a medical issue. So fine.

Now we are in the playoffs, we need him to step up. I don't care if he practices. He needs to play in the playoffs period.

I have been saying this since Harvin's signing, but where do you draw the line with Tate? Certainly he "deserves what he gets" the question here is, how much are we willing to match before letting him walk (to get what he gets)? I have a feeling we will be looking to sign him, as I said earlier, at 20-25 mil over 4 years. Again, if he refuses and wants Harvin money, we have a problem that won't be as simple as cutting ties with Harvin and giving Tate that money and I don't see us tying up 20 mil per year on just 2 WRs, especially 2 with very similar skill sets while knowing Pete also covets a taller WR.

D Rose was worried about his knee in the playoffs.

Turns out he was right to worry, as his knee gave out later. So I can understand Harvin's reticence/concern.

If he is hurt, asking him to play is a big deal. But if we need him, he is being paid millions to take that risk so I expect he needs to do so.

If he is scared/weakminded, well he is being paid a significant amount of money to offset that too.

Either way, we need the actual results not the promises.

I can already tell you guys what happened in this entire Harvin situation.

Harvin is injury prone and pain sensitive. He had a real injury, got surgery and rehab. Physically the guy was fine. But he was too scared or in too much pain for him to play. 100% the guy got the all clear from the doctors and the team. Otherwise he wouldn't be out there now. The Dr's gave him the all clear before the Minni game. After that, you can tell that this entire not playing thing was up to Percy.

Remember how many games and or practice did this guy miss due to headaches? Anyway, physically he was all clear but mentally the guy didn't want to be out there. Some faint feeling of soreness. Pete didn't want to throw him under the bus but didn't want to flat out lie. So for 4-5 weeks the mystery of "what's wrong with Harvin" without a peep from Pete. Obviously he didnt want to throw Percy under the bus, but couldn't say anything else --unless he flat out lied. The truth was that Harvin was physically ok but mentally he didn't want to play. So it came down to Pete finally saying enough is enough. If you can't play, we're going to put you on IR. Percy saw that he had to make a choice --either play or go on IR. He decided to play or at least give it a shot.

It's absolutely the only thing that makes sense. Is Harvin a bitch because of this? Maybe or maybe not. I wouldn't say so. Mentally he just didn't feel comfortable. But I think this makes the most sense. BTW, this is all just an educated guess.

I agree.

When Pete was on the radio Monday morning, he said the issue for Harvin was a "personal struggle." Later that afternoon, he said Percy would practice. I don't think Pete was trolling the media. There was nothing to be gained in those four hours. It was simply do or die time for Percy. Pete alluded to that today when he said they were running out of time and Percy decided to push himself through. I think Percy's struggles with pain are probably real and more heightened than other athletes. For that, I admire him for getting out there. There was no conspiracy. No gamesmanship. Percy was just faced with the ultimate decision: play now or sit for the rest of the season. I'm glad he chose to play, as he is one of the most dynamic receivers and RETURNERS in the game. I've never doubted his skill or his competiveness on game day.

Reasonable conclusions. May be petty on my part and it may simply be coincidence but I find it suspect that he was able to play against his old team and nobody else. That is the thing that does bother me (if what you guys are hypothesizing is accurate)... Percy making himself available when the game carries some meaning for him but not when we're facing a 1st vs 5th seed situation.

I don't think we'll ever know with certainty because of two principals.....

1. Occum's Razor (the simpliest solution is usually correct).
2. The truth always lies in middle, always.

True. I honestly don't care much. We're in great position now, and I'm excited to see him play again. I know he'll be busting his tail in the games, because he's never played them any other way.

I have not much to add but a column in USA Today in July. "The Seahawks were a good team without Harvin. And they should be good without him, despite the explosive talent that made Seattle look past his issues and pursue Harvin in the first place".

He is a distraction. He has NOTHING to do with the tremendous season I have seen the Hawks play w/o him. Yes, the Hawks could use a receiver with some experience due to Wilson's extension of plays. I think it would do a dis service to the receivers, Tate, Kearse, Baldwin, and Miller (sorry Luke but you are out) to bring in someone who appeared in practice sporadically during the season and now when they are in the playoffs.

That is a distraction. Seattle teams have been burned before with injury prone players and the original move was suspect to bring him here. Unless he has been doing something to bring up the players off the field that we haven't heard about, let him go back to wherever he has been the last 5 months.

These next games are playoff games for the team that made the playoffs. It should not be "They have Harvin back, now they are deadly".

Lol at people thinking Tate is gonna get 4-5 mill a year.

More like 8-9 mill or even 10.

Book it.

Then he can get some other team to pay him. He's not worth that in the least.

I cannot tell if your problem is my post or the fact that it was posted. Yeah I have lived all around the US and across the sea but damnit, wake the hell up. Get mad at me and the Harvin haters, as you call them. Wake up and give a round to the guys that were out there all season, getting hit, getting smashed, and catching the ball. The players that got us to the no.1 seed in the playoffs.

Horrible post? Which one? Maybe this is enough to get you angry and get Mr. Harvin angry. Personal problem?!!!! My God, I would love a personal problem to work its way into my bank!

I love the Hawks and have been there through thick and thin. Get angry and get out there and GO HAWKS, with or without Harvin, F The WWWW!

So he's getting 3 million more than Cruz? Could be but it won't be by any same team or us. 10 million would be more stupid then that inane Jay Cutler mess.

I stand by what I said so deal with it. The post is ignorant, not you but the post. Injury prone? What a load of crap.....by the way I'm not angry. I can't be angry over a post filled with untrue suppositions more sad would be nearer to the truth.

You have stat knowledge. Commendable, but do you have actual Sports Science medicine knowledge? The guy is gone. POOF.

That make you angry Harvin?

I will keep posting horrible posts until the man contributes to the team. You have a great heart but you are betting on a wounded horse. Play next week and make all the Harvin Haters liars.
