Sewald's current team is in the playoffs and the M's are sitting watching. Looks like the trade worked out for him and he has the last laugh.

Good old dipshitpoto........trade your closer when you're in the mix. Because teams do that all the time. Oh wait........no they don't at all.

Damn. Looks like ARZ won the trade now. Amazing how in August it looked like Dipoto pulled off something genius.

I don't know that Sewald would have made a difference for us. He was less consistent over the past 1½ years than previously. But, on the roster of a contending team, he can be effective in that particular role.

We had no offense before trading PS..
I'm happy for him-He can tell the guys that struck out too much
how the playoff experience feels.

well, most of them played in the playoffs last year for the Mariners, so they do know what playoffs feel like.

Agreed. Ms still don't make the playoffs with Sewald. Nice to see the Dbacks play Cinderella.

They might have. Canzone and Rojas weren’t the reasons the M’s all of a sudden started winning. It was because players already on the team caught fire - JRod, JP, Teo, etc. They were already on the team. Sewald may have saved the games that Munoz and others had blown saves for. All things equal that could have been the difference between making the playoffs and not. The bullpen was not as solid once Sewald was traded. Starting pitching was the only consistent piece until they wore down at end of the season....especially Castillo losing his last couple of starts.

I'm rooting for the Diamondbacks. Love Paul Sewald, and would love nothing more than to see a former Mariner get a ring.
