Willis has a good point.

However, I'd feel more sympathy for the 49ers if they weren't taking cheap shots last night.

Yea, I love how Harbaugh bitches and whines to the league for a week about Mathews saying he's going to hit his QB.

Then his players go out and level Russell Wilson every time he hands the ball off in the read option. Did we hear a peep from big Jim ? Nope.

When you're a blatant hypocrite, it really erodes any argument you or your players would have. The rest of the league is already tired of hearing Jim Harbaugh this season, and barely we're into week 3.

This is coming from a guy that took a clear 'legitimate shot' at Hasselbeck that he didn't have to and broke Matt's ribs.....

This sounds more like the whining and crying of being a poor sport crybaby than a guy that is real concerned about player safety.....

I agree with him, even though it was a legal block. There must be a reason why they allow such a dangerous move?

Should those be low blocks should be outlawed? sure, but it was a legal hit. Willis being a LB he tackles low all the time, but I get where he is coming from.

I thought I heard a little about why its still legal last night... the NFL Rules Committee keeps allowing these types of blocks because offensive coaches are adamant that they wouldn't be able to run if they weren't allowed to block like this.

Even Harbaugh admitted it was a legal block. I also find Willis's comments ironic since one of his players hit one of our guys low on an interception return, nearly breaking the guys legs too. So, shut up already.

I wasnt happy about the hit wilson took, or the hit miller to the lower back when he more then likely exchanged some heated words.. my wife on the other hand.. "Is he the one who had the twin girls!.. KILL THE ASS THAT HIT YOU!"

Boohoo. They get paid millions of dollars to play a man's game. Ian Williams failed to protect himself and got jacked up. I don't like seeing players endure season ending injuries, but cut blocking is fair, legal, and about the only way to kindle a running game these days.

Legal....yes. Cheap....yes.

He can keep QQ'in all he wants, but it's not going to change the rule or keep people from playing that way. It sucks someone got hurt and it will suck when the next guy gets hurt. With cheap plays happening by both teams, I'm could care less what Willis says. He just got his arse kicked.

Hopefully the league looks at the people getting injured and changes the rule.

Remember this Patrick?

Now, Patrick didn't "have" to hit Matt like that he could have just touched him down, But, NO! He saw this as an opportunity to injury a player on the other team.... Was this a legal hit on Matt?, Yes... Did it have to be made?, No!.... Stop crying Willis and take this loss like a man.

This is why people call them the whiners. Seriously all the cheap shots they delivered and they are pointing fingers?

I don't recall when this did happen. If it occurred following one of the shots they took at Russell then it was most certainly called for. Don't forget that Russell and the sweaze go way back too.

Nothing wrong with cut blocking, its been part of the game for a long time and players are taught to protect themselves. If it weren't for cut blocking Mark Schlereth would never have made a team. He used to tell the defensive players at the beginning of the game "watch your legs." Beetween his cut blocking and urinating in his uniform, no one wanted any part of him. He did what it took and it earned him Super Bowl ringand a job as an analyst.

Cut blocks have been around for decades and the rules revised. They don't cause an injury all that often and no more then any other block. It is not a cheap shot The 49ers in there heyday were one of the creators of the cut block in the NFL. Sort of ironic.

Say what?!!! Beetween his cut blocking and urinating in his uniform - that's disgusting!!! Never knew that about him. He seems so civilized now on ESPN.

Until I hear an apology for the BLATENT late hit on Wilson, I have no sympathy over any call that went against the niners.
