I know nobody's going to remember anything except the bad snap, but I thought this was pretty promising, especially against the 49ers front seven.
For me, it's more the velocity. Olu really slung it back. This is a big ask for any quarterback to haul in when they're not expecting a fastball. The bad snap was bad to the extent that it sure wasn't perfect. But the snap was shoulder height to Geno. Which in baseball is in the strike zone. It's not like it was a moon shot.

I absolutely think he'll be fine as wellhe already admitted his mistake and will learn and grow from it. It was his 2nd drive of the whole season IIRC. He will be fine
Even better!Article with some additional deets.
"Oluwatimi had a perfect pass-block-win-rate (PBWR), according to ESPN Stats & Info. ESPN Research credited Oluwatimi with 27 victories and zero losses on qualifying pass-block plays. Brady Henderson posted this clip, highlighting one of his more encouraging reps on Geno Smith's game-winning drive.
Pro Football Focus largely agreed with ESPN's research. They assigned Oluwatimi blame for allowing one single pressure in pass protection en route to a qualifying pass-blocking score of 61.8. That pressure was defined as a 49ers hurry on Smith."
"Furthermore, Oluwatimi was downright dominant as a run blocker. He was Seattle's highest-graded run blocking offensive lineman, earning an elite score of 86.8. The Seahawks rushed for 94 yards, including Smith's game-winning 13-yard scramble."
Nice to see!

Analyzing Olu Oluwatimi's 1st start at C following Connor Williams' retirement
The Seattle Seahawks were left stunned earlier this week when starting center Connor Williams decided to abruptly retire in the middle of the season. The 27-year-old Williams had signed a one-year contract with the club in August. Hiswww.yahoo.com
Scouting reports consistently listed athleticism as his primary weakness. I've read his persistence and leadership as some of his biggest qualities. He played great yesterday...hope he can adjust when OC's start attacking what they see on tape. Lots of hope we have found our C of the future.I saw some complaining about him yesterday and didn't seem to align with what I was watching.
He seemed to consistently get to his assignment and offer at least resistance and frequently push - was also coming off to adjust and help as bit and was vocal on the line
No idea where his ceiling is, future performance expectations, etc - but I think he did really solid going on the road against a tough divisional assignment.
Hopefully they can get some continuity as a unit and build from there
PFF graded him at 80.8 overall yesterday (86.8 RBlocking + 61.8 PBlocking). I'll happily take that grade for his first official start.I saw some complaining about him yesterday and didn't seem to align with what I was watching.

So if Olu turns out to be a serviceable center and Lucas really is back and Cross is good, then logic tells us that whoever has been making the o line drafting decisions might not be as bad as you think. All through his college career, and now in the pros, he seems to have had to prove himself (maybe not good during practice?), and when given a chance, he excels.
I think the Seahawks need to hire someone that is good at evaluating oline talent. Because whoever has been doing it, sucks at it!
