#68 is currently worn by Damien Lewis, who is already probably second to Britt in terms of how much he's done on the field with that number for the Seahawks.
I think the one who did the most with Seahawks uniform number 68 was Giacomini's successor with that number, Justin Britt.

Giacomini is a great choice, because he was part of the XLVIII team.

Giacomini is the son of Brazilian expats and speaks Portuguese.
I didn't know it at the time, because I didn't even have a TV from January of 2011 until mid-December of 2021, and I've never had cable or satellite TV service in my 23 years in Brazil, but Giacomini talked to Brazilian media (including ESPN Brasil) a lot about gridiron football and the Seahawks a lot during his time with the team.

In fact, I somehow managed not to even know until late 2019 that Giacomini was the son of Brazilians.

What comes to mind about Giacomini every time I see his name is how Kalee Buetow said his name in that segment on ESPN in which, as a small child, she named players, jersey numbers, and positions better than most adults could.

Wait, whut?

I moved to Brazil in June of 2000.
I watched stuff on my 'puters in the 2010 decade. In the aughts, I had a TV, but I watched broadcast channels and rented videos (VHS tapes initially, then starting in mid-2001, DVDs).
I started subscribing to NFL Game Pass in 2018, and watched on computer screens. Now I watch on either a computer screen or on the 50" TV. But still no cable or satellite TV service.

(Hot damn I love and miss those uniforms. Look at that mesh and glorious giant logo on the sleeves)

...and the giant shoulder pads and the giant numbers on the uniforms. Look at the size of the 72 on Nash, just past McKenzie in the pic. I'm not sure even just the "2" from the back of that jersey would fit on Mike Bennett's Seahawks jerseys, and Mike B is not a small guy.

From the ground chuck era, left tackle Ron Essink. Played until 1985.

Very little production can be found with today’s #, so I’ll go with the OG.

He was the whipping boy for almost every Seahawks fan on the forums back in the day. I would always argue that he was not the problem, that he was having to cheat over to help our revolving door at right tackle. The drafting of Sean Locklear finally solidified the position and Grey was allowed to actually play his spot correctly and our offense took off.

I find it kinda strange how many numbers there are where we never really had a stand out/high AV player.
Never realized it until doing the research for this thread.

For those interested:
Seahawks dot com as a current article up that specifically addresses “the best” players to wear specific numbers.

Here’s a link.

60 days and counting.

Max Unger

Got sent to NOLA for “I’m Jimmy”!
I’ve never said much about it from a personal standpoint but, even though I was hopeful that JG would be huge in Seattle I sure didn’t like losing Max.
In light of recent revelations it appears that many of the guys didn’t appreciate the trade either.
See Luke Wilson’s conversation with KJ if you want more information.
