Aaaaand in typical Maple Leafs fashion they lose the game. They're like the Browns of the NHL.

What I want to know us how did a kid that grew up in Scottsdale, AZ end up becoming a stud hockey player?

Season opener today, and the number one pick in the past draft Auston Matthews had a hat trick after his first 3 shots in the league. Also scored a 4th goal later in the night. Best start to a career by any player in any sport ever?

AT this pace he will break Wayne Gretzky's scoring record in February 2019.

Good time to be a Leaf fan with Matthews around. Not much to cheer about in years past.

AM is a great player, but Laine is going to be the best one coming out of this draft. I am still choked that the Oilers were able to snag Puljujarvi at 4.

Not a chance, Matthews is the man out of this draft. Laine is going to be great but to bad he is stuck in Winnipeg.
