Fitterer interviewed for the Carolina GM job. Trent Kirchner interviewed for the Texans GM job.Pretty sure. I don’t remember anyone ever interviewing an from sea for a gm post, either.
So, yes, it might just be your memory.

They picked Drake Jackson last year. Haven’t heard his name all year lol
Doubt he even makes their team next year. Compensatory picks aren’t all that great considering their basically 4th rounders
Having two coordinators hired as head coaches is actually above average, considering most head coaches don't last long nowadays.
SF's just recently had a number of head coaches come out of that system, but nothing really leading up to that point.
NE's system has repeatedly produced horrible head coaches, so not sure if that is the example for a positive or negative.
All in all, to even get one coordinator to a head coaching position puts that coaching tree in the upper tier of the statistic.
I also think there is something to be said about it being a copycat league, and owners trying to catch the latest wave. That's why Quinn and Bradley hurt so much. It was the defense that the entire league was trying to emulate, to the point that it no longer is the newest wrinkle to exploit.
Shanahan (in SF) isn't running that defense. It's actually a modified/updated Pete Carroll defense they have been running there for a few years. So as much as SF has had some coaches poached, it's not due to Shanahan's influence.
Speaking of the actual picks…They picked Drake Jackson last year. Haven’t heard his name all year lol

LOL.
Well that's a bit backhanded. LOL.
Shanahan picked guys with no Coordinator experience and they became HCs. He also lost McDaniel who was on offensive side of the ball.
I know its hard to admit, but coaches view SF as a good place to be to further their careers. That's why they were able to hire Anthony Lynn as a RB coach and now he's interviewing in Washington to be OC. Bobby Slowik is an offensive coach and likely to follow Ryans to Houston. If he leaves he'll likely be replaced by Klay Kubiak...and a few years from now he will likley get interviews somewhere.
I know you guys hate the Niners. Its OK tho to admit they have a good thing going. It won't kill you. Honest.
Yeah it’s a weird rule and highlights the racism of the league. It’s a slap in the face to say we hired you for skin color to get rewarded with comp picks because we screwed up and drafted Trey Lance. Certainly nothing to be proud about.

One of our coaches is interviewing for an OC job in Carolina if I remember correctly. If he's hired, does that mean we get a comp pick? If so, in this upcoming draft or next year?
If you are thinking QB coach Dave Canales it’s with the Ravens and he just had a 2nd interviewOne of our coaches is interviewing for an OC job in Carolina if I remember correctly. If he's hired, does that mean we get a comp pick? If so, in this upcoming draft or next year?

For Arlos theres nothing but LanceWelp, you topped youself. That's the dumbest thing I'll read all day.
The entire program is about giving minorities the opportunity get get jobs that can lead to HC adn GM opportunities. IE, the Rooney Rule wasn't enough because minority candidates were harder to find because they didn't get opportunity at a lower level.
This rule gives teams incentive to give those coaches and personnel people an opportunity and to develop them to the point that they can one day get the bigger opportunity.
That's what has happened with the 49ers. Mayhew, Saleh, McDaniel, Carthon, and Ryans being on the 49ers staff actually predates the rule, but it shows how much incentive teams can have to make minority hires at lower levels.
This has ZERO to do with Lance.
For Arlos theres nothing but Lance
