Personally, I wouldn't rank us as the #1 team in the league. Even top 5 would be a stretch for me. I'd put my money on proven winners, like the Eagles, Bills, even the Chiefs, who are barely above .500. We have yet to register that signature win, not even having beaten a team with a winning record.
But on the other hand, there is plenty of justification for that ranking. In our only two losses, the combined margin was 7 points. We've been in every game, have yet to absorb a bad loss. The Eagles can't say that having lost by 2 TDs to the hapless 2-7 Giants. What we should be taking away from that ranking is that people are starting to sit up and take notice, that this is a team to keep an eye on.
