I tried to find a stat on TDs per drive for the season. I’m happy for Meyers, but I suspect that we get into FG range and then have our drive stall frequently. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about getting at least 3 on as many drives as possible. With a defense this suffocating, it a death of 1000 cuts for our opponents. Get a lead and watch the defense tee off on a more predictable opponent offense!

I’ve said forever, he can be frustrating at times but….

He’s actually pretty good, and I’d be hard pressed to name someone I’d like to replace him with.

He's been doing pretty good for some weeks now, even splitting the uprights down the middle more often than not. He's always been an average NFL kicker on balance, not a bad one. Of course, I always want that guy with a terminator leg who doesn't make me nervous.

Stealing that win would have made this season for me (so far) but I can’t blame Myers even a little. Guy went 4/5 scored 13 of our 19 points making a long of 57. That miss was 61. We did him dirty.

Yeah, seeing a kicker get ST of the month tells me our drives are stalling more. We're still scoring points and chewing up clock, but if we're scoring TDs then our kicker isn't doing much.

I think the position is evolving and so is evaluation, and made/missed won't matter as much as before. Kind of like how wins used to be one of the most important stats for pitchers, but now the focus is more on the actual pitcher and less on the team outcome.

Having a kicker that can realistically make a 60 yard FG changes your decision-making, and I think being "able" will matter more than how many were missed.

A kicker with a high success rate from close range who lacks distance won't be able to help in a long FG situation. When the game is on the line and your only chance is a long FG, you either have a kicker who gives you a chance, or you don't.
