I believe, within the next couple days, the Hawks will name Outten as the new OC. When they blocked the Raiders from interviewing him, that’s the tell. You run into potential coaching drama if you deny someone an opportunity to promote, unless he’s your man.

I thought about this as well. You gotta highly regard someone to block them from being interviewed by another organization. You also risk pissing that coach off to the point that they leave entirely on their own accord. Outten, very well maybe the proverbial “favorite” to land the gig and he might know his chances are high because Seattle is not allowing him to interview.

I agree with you. If Outten isn’t anything other than OC for the Seahawks, Outten might as well leave himself.
