Not sure how you can attempt to write such a detailed report on any team like this unless you follow them exclusively.

Actually, it was written by someone named Andy Benoit. I think he's the same guy that wrote the "don't say we didn't warn you" Rams article last week. With regards to King, he may be a fluffer, but he was fluffing the Seahawks before it was cool to do so. I say props to him.

Mistakes aside, you don't often find writing in major national outlets (SI, ESPN) that is as knowledgeable on the Seahawks as this article was. You kind of wonder if they wrote that article for Seahawks fans or for everyone else. There's nothing in there that hardcore Seahawks fans don't already know, but fans of other NFL teams who were left wondering where the hell the ass-whomping 150-points-in-three-weeks Seahawks team appeared from could probably glean quite a bit from an article like this. For me, if a team like the Bengals or Panthers went 13-3 out of nowhere this season, I'd love to read a breakdown explaining how the magic happened.

My only real complaint about the article is that it was written almost a month too soon. The Seahawks will have some emerging stars this preseason and as we know from previous years those breakout players have a shot to start. Conversely, some of the players who were considered significant contributors could potentially lose their jobs or even roster spots. For example, the article talks about Schofield, Smith, and Farwell in the LB section, yet it wouldn't be a major shock if all three failed to make the 53 man given the intense competition going on right now. Kind of makes a big deal out of Jesse Williams, who almost looks like a bubble player already, etc.

I don't know if Harvin is going to be a revolution, but I bet he'll be a lot of fun in the 4th quarter after defenses have been chasing after Wilson, Lynch, Michael, Tate and Harvin all day, while getting knocked around by our line full of dirtbags. Harvin targets in those situations will feel like Nick Foles throwing bubble screens every single play against a Nick Holt Husky defense. Automatic chunks of yardage. So hard to stop, it just looks embarrassing for defenses.

Peter King gets a bunch of really good writers for his site even though he's a hack, and Bill Simmons, who is awesome, is stuck with Bill Barnwell. Hmph.

Though yeah, this writer was a giant sack of mistakes.

Yeah, I love FO guys, but Barnwell is probably their weakest offering. He's hit and miss in his analysis, and never struck me as a "he gets it" thinker. He's not terrible, but it seems like he's either close to being on the money or not close at all.
