Agree, and then he gets in complete trouble with his wife for getting the kids totally spun up when they're supposed to be winding down

Raible's awesomeness even increases when you listen to some of the other teams' announcers. I heard a replay of the Bengals' guys calling the Green catch on the Hail Mary against the Ravens, and my thought was "that's IT?" Raible would have made it sound like they had won the Super Bowl while at the same moment he was personally fighting off a pack of rabid Dobermans...

I agree his catch phrase is a bit worn out, but he can call a game though. Steve is just an ace. Probably just habit. Would make for a good thread in .net to hear to what new phrase would be replaced with "are you kidding me?". Might make for a good laugh here. ??

Believe it or not that isn't his. It is EVERY announcer everywhere's. I once did a ton of internet research to determine where and when that originated in modern sport and I found an answer (don't recall it now).

I like your idea, though, and I really dig Raible.

Heh... the more people point this out, the more I notice it (and the more it annoys me). Gah! To be fair to Raibs, though, I think he was doing it before it got lame. (Doesn't mean he shouldn't stop, lol.)
