Wondered where Axel came from, as he's currently not listed in the M's top 30 Prospect Rankings, thus no bio there. Found a blip-sized mention in the below 2019 mlb.com article indicating he's an international prospect from the Dominican Republic that the M's signed.

As good as Noelvi Marte was last year (which ended up making him a top 10 prospect in MLBs top 100 by year end) Edwin Arroyo has been even better this year. He's mashing with a .315 average, 12 HR, and a 900 OPS so far this year. Arroyo might make Marte available as a trade chip, or possibly have him move positions from SS to 3rd maybe so they can play together.
I think they were both dealt

Kind of sad that we had to, but Castillo is looking like he might just get us over the hump and into playing later into October. We just signed JP to a 5 year deal, so we sorta made that decision anyway. He's struggling now, but he's a team leader per Servais. His defense hasn't declined much.

Seattle also will be signing one of the most highly touted international prospects in years with sixteen-year-old shortstop Felnin Celesten this winter. When he signs on the dotted line, he’ll immediately become Seattle’s top prospect, and will be viewed in the same way Julio was. Seattle also will likely have two first round picks this next summer in the MLB draft, thanks to the very likely possibility that Julio wins rookie of the year.

Looks like they're on it.

Wow. All of a sudden, our farm system -- including the international additions -- is once again pretty loaded.

Felnin Celesten is one of the top prospects in a decade

Celesten, according to every scouting director I surveyed, is on the Mount Rushmore of international free agent shortstops available over the last decade. While Wander Franco was the unanimous “top shortstop prospect available” on the international free agent market since 2013, one director believed Celesten to be the next-best. The other directors had him fitting in somewhere in a pool of Franco, Marco Luciano and Orelvis Martinez.

In any case, it’s high company; a highly decorated group of prospects.

It was made pretty clear Celesten has arguably the greatest upside of any player in next year’s class.

“(Celesten) would be on the short list of best prospects to come by way of international signings over the last decade,” one AL director said. “The (Francisco) Lindor comps made some sense, but then he grew five inches. It’s like Didi Gregorious now, but with next-level athleticism and defensive traits. It’s legitimately plus across the whole board. There isn’t really an appropriate comparison right now.”
