Dipotos record with the Angels was 87.5 wins a year and one playoff appearance is almost identical to the Mariners 88 wins a year and one playoff appearance.
The difference is, with the Angels he spent nearly every penny they had on Pujols, Hamilton and CJ Wilson handicapping the team for years to come. With the Mariners he hasn't been able to spend much at all resulting in lateral trades for older or recently injured and on the mend players. I think ownership is a) cheap or b) afraid of Dipoto spending money on players like he did in Anaheim with no results which also means cheap.
Looks like he is nailing his 54% but its getting the team nowhere, he did manage to get his buddy Scott fired though.

It is well documented that Dipoto never wanted to sign those high-end free agents. Arte Moreno went above Dipoto's head to force those signings to happen.

It clearly impacted how Dipoto did business. He rarely gives out a multi-year contract to a free agent.

Pujols & Hamilton were all Arte Moreno. DiBozo didn't want to sign those guys. He likes trades. Don't know who wanted CJ Wilson though, but I can see DiBozo POSSIBLY spending on a pitcher, but also possibly not. I actually think he's the kind of guy who is jealous of these current players & their salaries..... Money that he never sniffed because he was a journeyman mop-up guy. He doesn't want to negotiate & hand out a nine figure contract. He's a hater, just like cheap azz Stanton, he doesn't want to pay players either.

World Series Alert!!!!!! Mariners just claimed Hagen Danner off waivers. He's a former light hitting catcher in the minors, turned mop-up guy in the minors. DiBozo is obsessed with light hitting catchers & soft tossing relievers...... He won the PowerBall with this acquisition.

I'm still waiting for him to trade Gilbert for a .209 hitting 2B who was all-star in 2
Well that means Genius Jerry could deal him at the deadline for Polanco after he signs somewhere else. Or in a deal for Frazier after he signs somewhere else. That fits that guy perfectly, won't sign Free Agents, but will TRADE AWAY assets for players that would've only cost them money.
