Just curious to hear what your thoughts on the #3 pick will be. I know a lot will change between now and July. I’m hoping we go for a field player this year. We have pitching up and down the board. Just curious to see where you stand on this
I'm guessing a hitter if you go by the pattern of past drafts.
I don't even get into it till near draft because you don't know
who's going to emerge before baseball starts.

I do like about 5 or 6 of the top arms. I know we typically draft pitchers at the top I just wonder what Jerry will do at 3. I wish I could say and believe we can’t do wrong but we really can unfortunately
Seems like there's a consensus at 1 and 2 between Ethan Holiday and Jac Laviolette then things get a little murky but starting pitcher is probably the move. Who knows maybe we get lucky and land Holiday or Laviolette

I’m drawing a blank on the name at the moment but the local kid looks really intriguing. Not sure why I am drawing a blank on the name.

You are correct and I think he is from Mt. Vernon but I don't recall the name either.

Gavin Lux, who the Mariners were trying to acquire, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, was traded by the Dodgers to the Reds instead.

He would have been a decent pick-up, provided Dipoto didn't give up too much for him. But he's just an above-average bat, although I guess an above average MLB bat would be better than a Dylan Moore/Ryan Bliss combo.

Don't get me wrong, Moore, the newly minted gold glover, is a valuable utility player, but a player who flirts with the Mendoza line every year is not the answer.

As long as the get something and he doesn’t just walk off
Genius DiBozo will trade Kirby for an over the hill player that they could've SIGNED as a Free Agent in their prime a couple years earlier. He'll also get in the deal Jacob Nottingham for the 7th time as the PTBNL

Dipsh**poto at his best. Leftovers, then selling us some lie about how good a pickup some FORMERLY good player is.
It's hard for me to put blame on Dipoto when ownership has handcuffed him repeatedly.

His TRADES are awful. He has ALWAYS said he prefers trades. His trades have always been lateral at best (very few) & mostly bad. This carousel at 2B every single year is because of his trades. Frazier, Wong, Polanco..... Now another unknown platoon. He isn't "handcuffed" in trades, he just isn't good at his job.

While I agree he has had many bad trades. I don't think Polanco was a bad trade. It ended up being a bad trade because of the year Polanco had but he was and always had been a solid player in Minnesota. And yes, you are still "handcuffed" in trades because he can't take on money. He is forced to get too creative every single offseason and you can't build a good team that way.

Maybe he can't "take on money" because his trades & free agent signings haven't produced playoffs success? This is his second ownership group. When he first arrived in Seattle, there weren't all these payroll issues. Maybe if he hadn't just dumped ALL Jack Z players just because & for pennies on the dollar...... I'm not convinced he isn't a dumpster diver. He thinks he's the smartest guy around & is always looking for the next reclamation project, instead of acquiring good players. That guy has sent out more talent than he has received in these ridiculous trades. Polanco & Wong were clearly trending DOWN when acquired, due to age & injuries. That would be why the other teams sold low to DiBozo.

Dipotos record with the Angels was 87.5 wins a year and one playoff appearance is almost identical to the Mariners 88 wins a year and one playoff appearance.
The difference is, with the Angels he spent nearly every penny they had on Pujols, Hamilton and CJ Wilson handicapping the team for years to come. With the Mariners he hasn't been able to spend much at all resulting in lateral trades for older or recently injured and on the mend players. I think ownership is a) cheap or b) afraid of Dipoto spending money on players like he did in Anaheim with no results which also means cheap.
Looks like he is nailing his 54% but its getting the team nowhere, he did manage to get his buddy Scott fired though.
