I would say Irvin was definitely overrated still the 15th pick with 8 sacks who can't stop the run. We need pass rush, not a run stopper, Clem, Bane, Branch and Big Red are there for a reason, we need a pass-defender/pass rusher, and Hunt can do both. Raw but has the physicals tools like Irvin had, just needs coaching and Hunt is the most unique rusher 6'8 270, almost like a Jason Jones role as a pass rusher, 2nd round would be a steal but i can see the Hawks taking him in the 1st just like Irvin.FlyingGreg":1trfcc9e said:I think he is fast heading to "overyhyped, overrated" draft pick territory.
Although I like the success he has had blocking kicks....

He's more of a 3-4 DE, and he needs a LOT of polish. He doesn't have that quick burst off the snap like we need.
We already have a project w/ Irvin. We don't need another....
No thanks. I know people will drool over his height and span, but I don't think he fits.

Irvin had a whole year to get ready for his big chance to impress. In minimal rotation he did "OK". Then when the money was on the line he face planted.

You mean that whole year as a rookie where he played a different position and was asked to fill in for a position he did not play all season after a full year of wear and tear on his body?
Not every rookie plays lights out their first year.

It's not all about height/weight, speed- due to his former discus career, he has abnormally strong upper body which helps him with pass rushing techniques and getting off blocks. Watch the tape if you haven't. He really impressed me.

No, he doesn't. We'll agree to disagree. I have watched the tape, and he is a physical specimen - just not sure that he fits our scheme. As I said, he seems more suited as a 3-4. Where would he play on our DE? He's certainly not a LEO...
We need an immediate impact pass rusher. We don't have the time to waste on another project. He needs a lot of refinement, IMO.
