Nice to see Luke progressing and playing well.

He's having a rookie season quite similar to Anthony McCoy's sophomore season, which bodes well for Luke's next year and beyond.

In 2012, McCoy had 18 receptions against 27 targets (67%), 3 TDs and 13 first downs (48% of his targets).

Thus far in 2013, Luke has 16 receptions against 23 targets (70%), 1 TD and 11 first downs (48% of his targets).

Might as well throw in Miller's stats into the discussion since I've gone this far.

Thus far in 2013, Zach has 28 receptions against 45 targets (62%), 4 TDs and 17 first downs (38% of targets).

Nice work. I would have thought that Zach had a lot more than that but then again, this isn't a throwing team.

He burnt Willis on that TD pass from Russell. He is a major mismatch for run stopping linebackers. I think Luke has a ton of potential and a lot of room to grow as a pass catching tight end.

On both of his catches - both drags across the middle, he had major separation on WIllis in both those plays.

And on the other side of the field was Luke's teammate from Rice, Vance McDonald.

McDonald, drafted 55 overall, has 8 catches for 119 yards, no more than 1 catch in a game this year

Willson, drafted 158 overall, has 16 catches for 242 yards, at least 2 catches in 4 games

Has Willson dropped a single ball thrown his way this year ? As TE's, him & Miller have amazing hands. Come to think of it, pretty much all our receivers have shown incredible hands this year

Willson would do well to wine and dine Miller. Become his best friend, understudy, servant. I'm not telling anyone in here anything they don't already know, but Miller has to be the most under-estimated, under-rated TE in the league. If Willson can pick up some of the more subtle blocking techniques of Zach (TE poetry), Russell will ultimately put him in the pro-bowl, especially when considering the improved play of Breno.

I agree HawkWow. Keep polishing the route running and become a better blocker. Another awesome find from our FO.

And Cheap! Excluding Earl and Okung, imagine how awesome we'd be if we just traded our 1st day picks for 2nd day picks? ; ) Happy holidays mi amigo.
