Do you think they will try out a couple kickers over the next couple of weeks and possibly drop a guy just to bring a back up in just in case. Seabass May be a little hurt and not very accurate lately.

I’m not sure the rules this late in the season.

i think you have to explore your options if you are them

This has been a strange year for kickers across the NFL... almost everyone has been erratic at times. But Seabass isnt hitting the kickoffs well either.

Remember the year we picked up Lawyer Malloy? Maybe there’s an accountant in Seattle who can kick?

Sea Bass has looked terrible lately. This is a need to be addressed fairly soon.

I'll say he's looked "bad" for most of the year.

When you can't trust a kicker from 35-45 - he looks bad. Well, is bad. Remember Ayala coming on to the mound late in the game with the M's up by 1 run?

As Brock said, kickers are like milk: when they turn sour they never become good again.

Sea bass has to be quicker on those field goals. Couple times there it looked like they were going to get the block

He will get through this year but it is obvious he isn't they player that he once was. That is a better view of how bad Walsh was. What he isn't is a man that gets rattled.

I was just checking out kicking stats for the season and Janikowski is (a little) below average in field goal percentage and extra points.

We should replace him, but he's not so bad that WE NEED to replace him immediately. Unless he's injured.

There are some super sucky kickers in the league, so apparently it's not that easy to just "pick one up."

I would trust him to take a pressure kick. He's missed some (almost always earl in the game) but he's always been a fairly clutch quicker.

Seabass probably isn't the long-term answer but if you think he should be cut today you may have very unrealistic expectations about the NFL kicking game.

This year Seabass is 45/48 (94%) on extra points and 20/25 (80%) on field goals. Those are middle of the pack-ish for the year but you also need to consider that the Seahawks played something like 14 outdoor games and 2 dome games this season (Ford Field, State Farm stadium, ?).

Comparing kicker accuracy numbers without attempting to normalize by kicking conditions is as silly as comparing .SLG in baseball without looking at park factors.

Yup,

I also hope people realize that good kickers aren't usually hanging out on the street in week 17.

I think if Janikowski didn't whiff that tackle last week, people wouldn't be so down on him.

Get this Sea-Bass is 11 for 11 on field goals in the 2nd half of games this year.

I have just as much problem with his lack of the ability to kick the ball into the end zone on kick offs as I do with field goals and extra points. We have been burned 2 weeks in a row and he is zero help as the last defense on returns. He won't even pretend to put out an effort to slow a returner down. I can't believe that after the Blair Walsh experience that they decided to go with an out of shape, past his prime 40 year old kicker. Huge mistake!

Seabass is garbage. That guy cost us the game last week I dont care what anyone tells me. Maybe if seabass made a slight effort last week on that kick off MAYBE san fran doesnt score. In fact they wouldnt have scored. I'm telling you right now Seabass is going to screw up in the playoffs.
