Listed as a 69 yarder. Wasnt it closer to 80?

80 on the fly might be the farthest carry in the history of the NFL. 69 is probably close as it is. And what a time for it, that was as clutch as a punter can get.

Gun took that one back 10 yards. 59 net is a field position murderer, it made me quickly forget that we went 3 and out. Pretty much killed momentum right there for them, after that first drive.

It was close to 80.

But he kicked from the back of the end one and they measure from the line of scrimmage.

Incredible.

Is it wrong that I think Hauschka's performance was better? Even though Ryan's was still elite.

In the optimal weather conditions, I think Hauschka could boot a 65 yarder this year and make it look easy. Obviously, I'm exaggerating but the difference in leg strength has been tremendous so far.

He apparently worked on it all off season.

Ryan didn't need any more workouts, the guy is literally built like a tight end or linebacker

Ryan and Hauschka are the two elements of this team I don't lose sleep over now.

Yeah, that punt stopped me in my tracks. I was deep-breathing because of our poor field position. Then Ryan BOOMED it and I resumed normal breathing.

I've watched the condensed version of the game three times now and it just gets better every time. The crowd down there was stoked when we had to punt out of our end zone. You could almost hear the collective gasp when that ball just kept going... and going... and going...

He should have ran down and spun the ball after the play was dead, or maybe the river dance.

That was actually celebration worthy.

I remember a few years ago when we brought Ryan in after the Packers cut him. I remember many of us being very seriously worried that he wasn't going to get punts off fast enough. Though we knew he had a hell of a leg.

Fortunately, because we have such superlative special teams, we can maximize his value. He's been a great find.

Edited from good to superlative for pehawk. :thirishdrinkers:

Good special teams?

Our special teams are phenomenal. The Seahawks make the opposition bring it, every play.

Only two threads I've ever created that got more than 2 replies... One about burgers and now of all things a punter thread. I feel like the Tebow of forum posters.
