Seems like playing strong side LB wasn't his favorite on base downs. He's genuinely excited about just playing DE and getting after it. His numbers should go up just by number of downs available to rush.

From the transcript ..........................................

(On if the 4-3 system is better for him than the 3-4) “It’s just different. I get to get back in there going vertical, not dropping. Just really putting my head down and grinding. When you’re going forward, you don’t think about it a lot. That’s the best thing about this defense is you’ve got guys behind you that can make all plays and guys up front just getting moving and get going and cause havoc. That’s what I like about this.”

(On how much did he have to drop in coverage) “Tight ends man, coming out of college was very, very different for me. Coming from a 4-3 to a 3-4 was different. They figured out a system to change it up for me down there too. Romeo Crennel, he did great with that. Here, I just know for a fact I’m going forward. I can put on as much weight as I want and get going.”

............. the process of adding weight and additional strength is going to be interesting to watch.

This team just got a lot better. Schneider knocked it out of the park, yet again.

I’ve already been hit up by some Houston fans.

The thing most fail to recognize is, the Texans were between a rock and hard place.

JC was seeking more than they could/wanted to pay, and his choice was Seattle.
The Texans basically had to take what they could get from us.

Sure they could have strung it out but nobody would have won in that situation.

I wore Hawk gear today specifically to see what folks had to say, I wasn’t disappointed. Several folks were vocal.

As long as it's safe; I wouldn't be that brave, I think.

You know how to ensure you've got a fighting chance, too. :!:

Everything about his playing for the Hawks should be a positive improvement . The thing that bothers me is that he made it clear he will not be franchised by the Hawks to which they reluctantly agreed . He wants to be a free agent after the one year " rental " ; which seems like if he doesn't like the outcome of the season etc. ; he can leave . Maybe it's not so much of the Hawks renting him ; but he is renting the Hawks . IMO

One could also look at the arrangement as a mutual two way audition.
