I think you're both misunderstanding my viewpoint here (my fault, I guess, for not being clear).

OBVIOUSLY I would be happy for Price just being effective and helping us win games.

But you can call it 'personal preference' in that it's more exciting (for me) at the idea of someone drafted lower outplaying the Consensus Top RB of the draft, you know?

And if he doesn't, so be it.

No need to make a mountain out of this mole-hill, guys.

I mean we ALL know it's going to be storyline next year (and into the future). Two Notre Dame backs picked in the first round, one near the top and one at the bottom, playing for NFC West teams. If you're not the one comparing them, there will be 50 national pundits ready to take your place.

I'm just a bit confused as to why a few here are taking me to task for even entertaining that thought of doing said comparison.

God forbid I'm excited about Jadarian Price's impact on this team and seeing how he stacks up against his former teammate.

Meh. Who cares about a dude on another team? Price is a Seahawk, the only team that matters. No comparison needed. He's playing for the SB champs. He's not competing against his old teammate. He's competing against whoever the Hawks are playing.

To be fair, when you read Seahawks content 365 days a year, everything is a storyline. I mean there's a thread about Bobo getting married that contains actual wedding photos.

I'm petty. I want to hear the national media talk about this after the season as well given how much time they spent on our Walker-departure apocalypse (as if they didn't want the ups/downs of the first 3.75 years of career).

Most of the pressure would be on Love in Arizona. If Love does not have the career Price has he would be considered more of a bust given the high draft capital

Could be given that Love was a consensus top-of-round and Price a consensus bottom-of-round player. I went to look up a comparison between the two. This has probably been posted before but I hadn't seen it...Scott McCloughan likes Price more in the NFL. To your point, pro production doesn't always mirror college production. I mean half of the first rounders this year will have disappointing careers (maybe more in this draft), and that could include Love really.

Price is going to fit in quite nicely if he doesn't get injured. Trust JS.

Their OL is always among the best in college, Love clearly was
the better RB, I thought besides USC that Price underperformed
in his chances, I know I'm going to be in the minority in saying
that but I see ND football all the time, I live in South Bend.
I really did not want Price but possibly he plays better in the pro
game than in college like Rickey Watters did.
I hope he does..

If he comes anywhere close to Ricky Watters , I'll be very happy .

Ricky Watters was the perfect example of a player you hate........until he comes to your team.
LOVED how hard that guy played, and he was a damn good receiver too.

IIRC, Ricky retired after 9/11 because he was afraid of flying. Probably had another couple of good years in him.

I remember all the flack he got for doing the alligator arms thing with Philly. People acted like he was some wuss.
All I saw was a dude who played hard every single play. Not only a very good RB, he was a damn good receiver and just wanted to win. Teammates seemed to love him too.
