Listening to RJ Bell in Vegas on the local sports show

If Denver had Blaine Gabbert and Jacksonville had Peyton Manning Denver would be an 11 point favorite.

No way in hell would I agree with that. Put Manning on the Jaguars and they are a 10 win team. Put Gabbert on the Broncos and they'll be lucky to win 6.

Denver were an 8 win team with Tebow at the helm.

Gabbert would give them 9 and Peyton would be forcibly retired because of possible paralysis ala Daryl Stingley.

I don't know if you guys know much about Peyton Manning, but he's a master at detecting where the pressure is coming from, checking out of plays to avoid the blitz, avoiding pressure in the pocket, and quickly releasing the ball. He had a bad o-line in Indy the last few years he was there and still led them to the playoffs every year. He would be fine in Jacksonville. Now obviously they wouldn't be nearly as good as Denver is right now, but they would be a lot better than they are now.

And when Tebow led the Broncos to 8 wins, they had a much better defense than they do now. He was also just as bad as Gabbert, but somehow led them to miraculous 4th quarter wins, which Gabbert hasn't done.

I remember a while back, in TJack days, some people were talking about how good QBs can "quickly go through progressions" to find an open receiver. This quarterbacking concept may apply to most QBs, but not Peyton Manning.

I watched some 20 minute career highlight reel of Peyton Manning one time and was amazed how he, almost always, threw to the first receiver he looked at. It is as if he knew which guy would be open, based on the defensive look, based on his called play (which he may or may not have audibled to, moments beforehand). He's a freakin football wizard.

Blackmon/Shorts would turn into Thomas/Decker and MJD would be Edgerrin James. It's kind of funny how people talk about how many "weapons" Peyton has in Denver. Thomas and Decker were just guys before he showed up. They would continue to be just guys with Gabbert as QB.

I have been told by many here that Indy "sucked for Luck". So this theory must be wrong because it insinuates that Peyton did have a large role in all those Indy wins and maybe their record when he was out was fair. That cannot be as I have been told... :sarcasm_off:
