Anytime you get the best CB in the game, in the 5TH ROUND!!! I don't think you can say anything bad about that draft.

Carpenter might turn out to be something, we just don't know yet, homie needs to put down the Double Quarter Pounders though, KJ Wright was a good pick up, and IMO Moffitt just got lost in the shuffle. Moffitt wasn't a bad player, but there's better players now that came from the UDFA ranks, and later round picks. Maxwell has had some injury issues but he's been pretty solid as a ST guy, and even in the action he split with Lane last year didn't look bad at all and could probably start if it weren't for the fact that he's playing on the Seattle Seahawks, and Malcolm Smith to me has been pretty solid, he did well when he took reps from Hill last season at OLB, and made some great ST plays.

I can't call it the WORST, but it ain't 2010 or 2012 which arguably are both in the conversation for the best class they've taken.

I think the word "worst" is really misleading here. Kind of tough when you are comparing against just our own drafts. Tough to evaluate the value of those guys in a quality vs. quantity debate. It is kind of like comparing the goose's golden eggs.

That said, I can see his point of 2011 maybe being not quite as great as 2010 but really can not tell about 2012 yet (way too soon). It takes time to filter out what we really got there outside of our ML and QB; but tough to argue w/ adding both your offensive and defensive QB's in one year.

Just a really tough call when the quality is so great across the board.

Compared to 2010 and 2012 it's definitely the worst.

But our worst is better than 90% of other team's best, so o well!

Without Sherm that draft would be very weak. Can't hit em all out of the park

What justifies taking out the best player of the class though? The same could be said of any team's drafts, but it would be dumb.

Getting potentially two starting linebackers, a quality reserve CB, and a player who is still a good guard even if its with another team is no small thing. Add in the mystery named Carpenter.

It's any average draft by league standards, not a weak draft. And it was an average draft gathered from an unarguably weak draft class, which IMO makes it a plus draft.

Three drafts, all with pro bowlers. "Worst"--ha!

It's amazing how we, as Seahawk fans, never knew what a real quality front office was. NEVER. We'd get one decent starter and two backups out of an entire draft class and think the GM was the MAN. Now we get multiple starters, pro bowlers and all pros out of every draft/FA rookie class and it's becoming...can't believe I'm saying this...EXPECTED.

We are becoming what I always hated with the Stealers, Patriots, etc.---spoiled.

It's about time!!!

What some people don't seem to realize is they took a shot at Carpenter at Tackle, knowing if he didn't make it, he could play Guard. That's why Tackles are so highly sought; a lot of Tackles can slide inside, but not many Guards can slide outside.

It's been pretty obvious that Carpenter is a pretty good Guard. He just can't stay on the field. From what I gather, Carp didn't have injury issues in college. It's hard for me to categorize a guy as a bust because he has injury issues (unless that guy had documented issues before you drafted him). I mean, we all still do it, but it's impossible to predict an injury or how a guy heals from it, or his propensity to keep getting injured. There's guys that go years without getting injured, then they get hurt and they're never the same and they fight just to stay on the field. There's guys that can never stay on the field to start with. Sure, you're not getting production out of the singular pick, but it's hard for me to call the guy a total bust. Maybe "injury bust" would be a better moniker

IMO:

2010: A+ (even without the assist from McDaniels/Ruskell this draft was great. It got nothing in UDFA though)
2011: B (factor UDFA (Doug Baldwin, Jeron Johnson), and it's a solid A)
2012: A+ (also had Jermaine Kearse and Rishaw Johnson in UDFA)
2013: C+ (factor UDFA (Alvin Bailey, Michael Brooks), and it looks like maybe a B+)

I'm guessing 2013 will be higher in a couple years, especially if Harvin makes a big impact.

Our two less than phenomenal drafts compensated with very good UDFA additions. Pete's ability to recruit is really showing itself in UDFA periods. They aren't getting a ton of guys, but it certainly seems like they are getting the guys they want the most.
