My offseason boredom is basically post Super Bowl to just a few weeks before the draft. I’ve always been a draft junky and I thoroughly enjoy the whole team building process. The Geno and DK trades seemed to come out of nowhere and that fueled my excitement for awhile. Now we are a little over two weeks to the draft. The draft is fun and makes me feel like a kid at Christmas again. I’m ready and excited. 5 picks in the top 92?! Let’s go!!

My football boredom begins again about the middle of May until training camp starts. Mini camps and OTAs are marginally interesting if they bring enough positive news about the rookies.

I’m currently in Minnesota and have met my newest grandson for the first time. I guess I just don’t have time for boredom.

My football clock is dialed into the seasons. So the offseason, for me, is all about warmer weather, spring cleaning, getting out in the sun, barbecue, camping, baseball, etc. Basically, that's my distraction(s) until late summer and then I get ready for football.

I loathe the offseason. Especially the time between March and July. Yeah the draft is cool but even after the shiny new toys wear off, it's another 3 months just to get to Training Camp. And then we get the (yawn) preseason. When bullets fly for real in September is when I get giddy again (and my liver has to do some push ups).

It's cold, rainy and dreary today in Astoria, Oregon. I don't mind it actually. Noodling around the house, tinkering on the flight sim, working on my jets and warbirds, prepping them for flight. YouTube has become my pal. Sit down on the couch, fire up YouTube on my giant screen TV and search things like "Seahawks Championship". Ahhh. Tons of videos to reminisce. Nostalgia in overdrive. A little vino doesn't hurt either.

So what do you guys do to stave off the Offseason Blues?
I got 7 kids so I don’t even have time to be bored. I’m a huge baseball fan so I like this time of year, even the mariners might have regressed the most this year. I like to play a little madden sometimes too. My go to thing is a small beach up here in Sequim call John Wayne Marina. There are some pretty cool horse clam beds and my wife is VERY new to anything outdoors so we have fun just poking the horse clams and making the shoot out water. It’s like a mini Yosemite

Also, if the majority wants this thread moved to The Lounge, I am totally fine with that.

We supplement the NFL with the NLL. We are part of Banditland. There are NLL teams from coast to coast in the USA and in Canada. The Bandits are going for the three-peat this year. If you're bored, go back and watch some NLL playoff games from last year. You may become a fan of the fastest sport on two feet. Box lacrosse is MUCH faster than the field lacrosse.

My solution is to start fishing. Time to fire up the outboard and make sure she's running fine... and then make plans to start fishing locally and also make plans for some fishing trips to Ea. Washington.

This year my local fishing plan is to start catching yellow perch. This will be my first year targeting this species. I'm sure it'll be a learning experience but I'm ready for the challenge.

And I've already made plans for my first Ea. Washington trip of the year. I leave Thursday morning for Potholes Reservoir to fish for Walleye... returning Sunday... perhaps on Monday if the catching is going really well.

And I have a fishing trip planned for early June in Florida. The plan is to meet HS buddies in Pensacola and drive to Destin to jump on a party charter and go deep sea fishing for two consecutive days.

Oh... almost forgot... I've also got an overnight Sturgeon fishing trip planned for mid-May on the Fraser River up in BC. That one will be with both of my 40-something sons and one of their fishing buddies. Should be a lot of fun as well.

Just be careful with those Florida trips...

I would love to be bored, after winter and now into drippage and wet, sun teasing us with one good day in ten, trying to get post winter clean up done, fix stuff that went south over the winter, and Honey do lists. Give me boredom for a couple weeks please!

You ever astral travel? It’s amazing. I see that stuff in Ultra 10K!
I tried it twice. I used the declassified CIA instructions. The first time worked great, I closed my eyes and looked down, I saw a hand but it wasn't mine.

The instructions say trying it could lead to permanent hearing loss. The 2nd time my ears hurt for a week and so I passed on it.

If anyone ever trys it, do a version that doesn't involve any type of head phones.

Hmm, never had problems with hearing loss. I don't use headphones. I've been leaving my body since I was a child. Pretty natural for me. It does require a lot of practice if you are new to it. Mind awake, body asleep is the mode you want to be in, then you start feeling the vibrations and with deep concentration you can pull your consciousness out of your body. It's been totally enlightening, perfect proof we survive physical death (our bodies are mere hosts of our consciousness, the brain merely a receiver), you can go on all kinds of adventures! Incredible stuff.

Can you share a video that you believe is the best step by step instructions? With all the hype videos and drama, it would be nice to have a video I know that works and then it just takes practice.

I'm too busy to be bored or navel gaze. Several jobs, restoring an old truck, etc. Time is flying by, and I clock in here once in a while to see if I've missed something. For the last few years I've found the draft as frustrating as watching the mediocre games. I hope that changes with the new personnel this season.

I don't have any specific video I can endorse but you can start with this woman and see if it resonates. There's tons of resources out there for sure from books to videos...However, I highly recommend anything that involves The Monroe Institute...

My youngest daughter got a telescope (5" Newtonian) for her first, camera and a few lenses a year ago she loves it..

What Telescope do you use (I can already tell a big boy price tag) and lens filters do you use if I may ask?!

Great stuff

EDIT: Oh never mind they are listed on the pictures.. haha

Yep the details of each image should show the gear in use. Mostly PlaneWave scopes, Chroma filters, and Moravian cameras. Scopes are located in New Mexico and Chile and are ran remotely by automation.
