I loathe the offseason. Especially the time between March and July. Yeah the draft is cool but even after the shiny new toys wear off, it's another 3 months just to get to Training Camp. And then we get the (yawn) preseason. When bullets fly for real in September is when I get giddy again (and my liver has to do some push ups).

It's cold, rainy and dreary today in Astoria, Oregon. I don't mind it actually. Noodling around the house, tinkering on the flight sim, working on my jets and warbirds, prepping them for flight. YouTube has become my pal. Sit down on the couch, fire up YouTube on my giant screen TV and search things like "Seahawks Championship". Ahhh. Tons of videos to reminisce. Nostalgia in overdrive. A little vino doesn't hurt either.

So what do you guys do to stave off the Offseason Blues?

I think I posted something similar around this time last year. I absolutely hate this time of year. NFL is the only sport I follow. I do use this time to get things done around the house that I've been putting off. I also find myself watching more movies and TV shows. In the past i would also do some gaming (old school and modern) but I'm not feeling that yet this time around.

Yes it's cold and lonely out there.
But remember for us old guys life is flying by at a faster and faster clip.
We need things to slow down so we can look forward to football season and then enjoy it before time slips away and we're dead.

Nice!

Boy isn’t that the truth. The older I get I swear on my mother, life just keeps going faster and faster. I guess that’s the one good thing about the offseason. Einstein was right.

It’s all relative.

My interest in the nfl continues to dwindle...besides a couple days into free agency haven't cared or missed it. Usually by now I have an idea who's going in the first couple rounds. Besides neon deion's baby boy and his cb wr i don't even know... The clickbait of the offseason gets sickening so I just stay clear.

I spend more time in the jam space this time of year. Well, more focused time at least. Less distractions overall right now...outside of household projects. That's a great way to kill time and money.

You could always pick a neighbor and assume they murdered someone next time you see them with a black trash bag. What do they have in there, huh? Body? Yes. Let it consume you and spiral out of control with conspiracy theories. Get into telescope gear and spycraft too. Just be sure to snap out of it come game One.

A couple of hours of this listening to classic R & R and I'm destressed and rejuvated. The bad Hawk losses aren't as devastating as I grow older but I must say the subpar OL play is very frustating.

This should be the Thread about Nothing.

Where we post whatever Non-Football related stuff we want. :)

I usually ‘get back into’ my guns during the offseason. Buying (going broke) all of the accessories such as nods/nvg, lights, upgrades to rails, etc.

A lot more range time..especially once the summer hits.

My 16 year old daughter (cheer & track) and 13 year old son (football…lots of training, lifting, running, etc..) keep me busy.

But, definitely the worst part of the year. Fall is my favorite season. There’s just something about the cool air coming back, on nice days, when the leaves are turning and our Hawks are scheduled to play that day.

Chicken wings and Hennessy. It’s the only time of the year I actually drink.

Damn…keep posting folks. This thread is satisfying…

I haven’t had a minute to be bored yet!

Just finished a week or so showing JTT my home town of San Diego. Instead of seaworld, he got a tour of my favorite dive bars and beaches in north county. Was awesome.

Now it’s road trip time.

As to football - saw there is a clip of Kupps last practice with his Rams players, but I haven’t clicked on it yet. Better save that for a moment I’m prepared to be sad.

Operation gut drop keeping me pretty busy. If the M's didn't suck a** again, they usually help the gap until football season.

It was opening week for the Padres when we were down by the stadium. Those fans seem happy.

60 hr work weeks. Garden. Geese. Landscaping on my 6 acres in Quilcene. Kids.

Same shit I do all year - no different. But I’ve become a casual fan - or a passive fan even - I really couldn’t care less if football existed.

Maybe it’s the Buddhism. Getting attached to silly things that don’t matter seems silly. But I do enjoy the draft and watching the team develop - so maybe my interest will increase as it did (albeit minuscule) last season

Until the commercials. I attempted to watch a game and made it about a half hour before doing something more productive. A few minutes of football for hours of commercials seems pointless.
