It's over.
We're not going to lose on the first game.

That would just put us out of our misery, and it doesn't happen that way for the Seahawks. The football gods are going to tease us, let a few things go our way so we start to raise our hopes, and then on Monday night, the Niners shock the Lions on a last-second red zone INT.

Any scenario involving the Giants beating anyone other than the Seahawks is a nonstarter for me. Season is over.

The Giants games only matter if we come down to a tie for 'Strength of Victory', which is the current tiebreaker scenario we are on.

Winning the SOV tiebreaker doesn't involve the Giants at all. There is also a realistic-ish scenario where the Eagles have the #2 seed locked up because the Packers beat Minnesota and Detroit beats SF in Week 17.

Our odds are truly terrible for this scenario to pan out, but if a handful of upsets go our way tomorrow, there are a lot of teams we need to lose in Week 18 who might be fielding their backups by halftime. (Including Buffalo and Kansas City, which I just realized SonicHawk didn't list on his rooting guide as teams we want to lose in Week 18).
