I wonder if he gets brought back soon. There are a couple of head scratchers on the roster right now.

Who would you consider a head-scratcher that made the 53?

I was disappointed a few guys didn't make it in (Holani being one) but I thought almost all the moves made sense regardless.
11 OL is surprising to me. One of Sundell and Laumea probably would have made it on the PS. 3 RBs just feels very risky. How many times over the last 10 years has the team been down to the 3rd string RB or pulling Marshawn out of retirement?

Hopefully he makes it to the PS and sticks around.

I get it, but to me being light at OL is far more risky than being light at RB. Especially given our OC's background as an OL coach, I think trying to keep a continuity in that group is far more important. (I think 11 instead of 10 is a product of our projected starting Center coming off injury and we aren't sure where he's going to be. Throw in Lucas starting the season on IR, I think going deep on OL makes sense.)

Additionally, positional value being what it is in the NFL right now, Holani making it through claims to land on our practice squad seems more likely than an offensive lineman.

Glad we got him back. League wide, RBs are kind of under rated these days, so probably why he avoided waivers. (y)

Yeah, that's part of why I think letting Holani go out on waivers was a safer bet than one of the OL.

OL talent is both more valued by modern NFL offices but also in shorter supply, so it's much less likely for an OL you think might be a decent backup to be there then a 4th string RB, even as promising a 4th string RB as Holani looked.

Well given the reputation of our new O line coach I cant help but think other GM's and Coaches would like guys that he has worked with thru OTA's and spring training to improve their depth. So good argument.
