Down where qb starts to give self up ONLY ON FEET FIRST SLIDE. Can dive forward, standard downing body parts and football position apply. They got the first by correct ruling.
I saw the dust in the turf flying for at least a yard
I interpret that as a slide not a dive but I’m not the official, I’m a Homer
Bad call IMO
right,.. but i guess whre most are confused is.. before he even made it look like a dive.. dude started a slide.Think of all the times a QB has dove for a TD. They don't call him down when he starts his dive. The QB is only down when he gives himself up if he slides feet first.
That’s fine, but then he isn’t down as he hasn’t been contacted.Think of all the times a QB has dove for a TD. They don't call him down when he starts his dive. The QB is only down when he gives himself up if he slides feet first.
Evidently you are correctIt's not a slide unless it's feet first.
So they got it wrong BY RULE?You guys are right. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profo...treat-head-first-dives-like-feet-first-slides
“A quarterback does not have to slide feet first to be considered to be giving himself up,” the league’s online rules say. “Regardless whether the slide is feet first or head first, as long as he gives himself up, he should receive the protections afforded to him as a player in a defenseless posture.”
Evidently you are correct
RightOr not per Torcs post above lol
