His top contenders section is fair.

Everything else is a mostly laughable ode to popular and legacy teams.
I agree. Once you get past those 5 teams, it's pretty much one of beauty being in the eye of the beholder.

Good. While lists mean jack squat, I hope they leave the Hawks off all their lists. Just more chips.
And look at that list, I'm glad I wasn't drinking coffee at the time. Hilarious.

ONE BREAK AWAY

Bengals - REALLY? Aside from Hendrickson, what else do they have on Defense? They ain't winning sh*t with one actual defensive player. Don't care how good he is.

Steelers - LMAO!! They think Aaron Rodgers is 31 (and in his prime) and not 41 (and way past it). Also, he has DK "Bodycatcher" to throw to. That team ain't coming anywhere close to even making it to the Divisional game, let alone SuperBowl. Hell, they're going to be hard-pressed to even make it to the playoffs with that washed-up has-been they have at QB. 😂

UP AND COMERS

Vikings - What the hell are they smoking? They really believe that a glorified Hand-off merchant coming off a knee injury (who's never started an NFL game or even played in one) is going to lead this team deep in the playoffs? He'd be lucky to lead them to a .500 record (which he won't). Vikings made a colossal blunder by letting Sam Darnold walk.

Up And Comer? More like Down and OUT! 🤨

ON THE FRINGE

Cowboys - Maybe one day Jerry Jones (or someone with the balls to tell him "NO") will figure out that Dak is NOT a Franchise QB and the only thing he will help lead the Cowboys to is another Playoff-less season.

Niners - Their team is a MASH unit right now and will be a MASH unit this season.

Superbowl chances? I think they have a better shot at a Top Pick.

POTENTIAL CINDERELLAS

Cardinals -
Cards have been irrelevant (thanks to Kyler Murray) for years and that won't change this year.

Cinderella? More like the Ugly Stepsister. 😏

Bears - And if the Cards are the Ugly Stepsister, then the Bears are the Ugly Stepmother. This team is overrated as f*ck as is their QB. They will be somewhat competitive this season, I imagine, but no chance in hell of them making a run.

Overall, these teams being on these sections are an absolute JOKE..

I would put (if I may toss a Red-hot TAKE here) Seattle in the "One Break Away" category. We got the Defense and we HAVE the necessary offense to put us in position to make a deep run. WGAF what FOX or whatever NFL Media outlet thinks?

Again, it's a good thing. Year after year, they act like the Hawks will be a 6 win team, if that. Only to see them whip out a double digit win season. All behind a sh** O Line and a turnover machine at QB.

And the 2nd tier being 'One Break Away'... PLEASE!!

The only 'Break Away' they are.., is if Lamar, Mahomes, Allen and half of the Eagles and Lions starters ALL broke a leg in Week 1.

The bengals with a terrible OL and bad D, are basically another Burrow injury away from a top 5 pick.

How are they on the list? Who wrote this list? Clearly a Michigan fan, or the Vikings wouldn’t be on it. This list is more of a “I hope my favorite college qb is good someday as a pro list” rather than sb odds.

Folks at Fox got the memo from Schneider to leave Hawks off this list? What a way to motivate and some Coldwater for Macdonald's people.

The Bears, at best, are where the Seahawks were last year. Brand new rookie head coach brought in (at least partly) to fix one side of the ball that completely sucked last year.

Mike Macdonald had an exceptional rookie season. I'll be surprised if the Bears pull off something similar.

Benjamin Franklin said “ in life there is nothing certain except death and taxes”.
I think if the NFL had been around then he would have added, “and the Seahawks picked last in their division every year”.

Odds are 60-1 for the hawks winning the SB. I'm not normally a gambler, but I took a 20-minute trip to Spirit Mountain this weekend:
- $50 on the hawks to win the SB
- $100 on them to win the division (5.5-1)
- $50 to beat the whiners straight up week 1 (pays $108). Hawks were getting 2, but only paid $95 on a $50 bet.

Seems weird to me how preseason and last season results are juggled back and forth to come up with rankings.
Just because rookies are rookies doesn't mean they have no skills.
At worst Seahawks odds are 1 in 32. It goes up from there.

I may have to vomit a little after saying this, but the Broncos are a sleeper contender IMO. I hate them, but Bo Nix with a year more experience could be dangerous.

So, either we get there with Darnold or Melroe in the next few years, or we're picking top five in April for our qbotf, which means another few years after that before we get there, if all goes exceptionally well. Oh well. If it was easy, every team would have a shot every few years. Will be really interesting to see if Sam is the answer or a place holder, and if/when/how well/how fast Melroe develops.
