It's being widely reported that starters aren't playing at all. That should give a good look at some of the bubble players and younger guys that may be the future of the franchise. I'm anxious to see TEs (Russel-scored last week, Westover-UW, and Barner-4th rnd pick) and how they fit in with a really deep WR room.

Pharoah Brown's injury status update anyone? (I didn't remember this but saw an article about him being close to a leg amputation from a leg injury in college so could be something serious. Fingers crossed it's not). The backup OLine played last week and did OK but there's a chance to see some growth even if just from playing together consecutive weeks. We know some of them will play this year at some point so getting 2 weeks to see them may give us some foresight when it happens. Hopefully they can open a gap on the goal line this week too....

Sam Howell looked pretty controlled and disciplined last week-throwing the ball away multiple times instead of forcing it. Does that continue and look like a trend? ... or will '23 INT machine show his face? What about LBs? Presumptive FA starters Dodson and Baker were out all camp and haven't seen action much at all. I read Rhattigan (played all last week I think) is out too. Maybe it'll be the rookie TKnight show. This position is specifically tied to MMac so I'm really interested to see who he likes and how he sees the depth.

Lot's to look for in this game I think. ...and JAdams will have a few things to say too probably...just to get on TV...if he's not out injured on the 2nd play.

I’ve watch every preseason game every year for 2 reasons.

1 to see the young talent play and (hopefully) improve

2 to see our starters playing together even if just for a few drives to see if they can build a game rhythm.

as salaries have skyrocketed over the years starters have played less and less of the preseason. It feels like in recent years we have seen an increase in sloppy play week 1 and the correlation seems obvious.

What's everyone snacking on for the game?

I'm having cut up hot dogs lightly seasoned with chili powder dipped in tartar sauce. Sipping on a glass of Merlot.

Hmm just some hot dogs and chips, its also my dinner lol. Once the game starts I don't really move until halftime or afterwards. And being for me being CST its about the right time to eat dinner as well.

No “snacks” for a mid afternoon game. It’s a pretty decent day today so around halftime I’ll head outside and grill some chicken to go with whatever else we are having for dinner. I’ll watch the 2nd half on delay later tonight.
