The only good thing about 10am starts is that it gives me an excuse to throw some (extra) Irish cream in my morning coffee.

I'm pretty sure TV revenue is the reason for the time thing and doubt you ever can change it. Big money talks and TV revenue is the biggest.
Pete is the first coach to seem to be able to account for a lot of the problems associated with having to play at 10am our time. And anyone that traveled from here to the east coast can attest to their being a let down for a day or two.

The practices being held at 10am and then leaving a day early to give the players time to acclimate seems to have had an effect this year. A big part of this is ownership agreeing to the extra day on the road. Imagine if you can the costs of feeding & housing a full team of football players besides all the related staff for an extra day.

Hell even that rich guy Rockhawk would gulp at that extra cost.

:D

I'm sure that's the reason, too. The NFL doesn't miss a chance when it comes to an opportunity to turn an extra buck.

But I don't understand how. Take this week, for example. There are 8 games that start at 10:00 am and just 3 that start in the afternoon slots. Wouldn't it help ratings of the were to split them up more evenly? Are they afraid of matching up our game with Atlanta in the same time slot as the Niners-Panthers, both televised by Fox?

Does anyone know if any of the west coast teams have complained about the early starts? If the Hawks have gone to the trouble of adding an extra day on the road and adjusting their practice times, you'd think we would have raised the issue.

Why arent all the games at night? Much easier to drink alcohol at night and do get together's.

Who wants to hang out at 10am on Sunday?

Because if u play at night it's too late on the east coast
Who cares about the east coast? West coast, best coast.

What grinds my gears is the owner resolution that passed a few seasons ago...east coast teams wouldn't have to play at SD/OAK or SF/SEA in the same season because of the 'hardships' of playing on the west coast. Meanwhile, west coast teams often go on the road for back-to-back games for 10 and/or 11 AM PST starts and the mileage of a single round trip for just one of those games will often exceed that of some east/south/north teams' travel mileage for the entire season.

And how many times have west coast teams had to start at 10 AM in the playoffs on the road while two east/south/north teams go at it at 5 PM PST? (Vikes/Packers and Lions/Saints last season) Switch that crap around already.

The really major downside to the 10:00 game is that most of the other games are happening at the same time. When the Seahawks are on, I only pay attention to the Seahawks game (other than switching to Redzone during commercials).

There are only three 1pm games tomorrow. When Seahawks are on at 1, that means between 10-1, I can watch a full slate of games at once on Redzone, and keep up with what's going on. But with only three games at 1 tomorrow... well, I guess it means I'll get off my ass and do something productive.

So maybe it's not all that bad.

That's what I don't understand, it's not like it's 6 games in the morning, 5 games in the afternoon, plus Thursday/Sunday/Monday night football (plus byes for those that realise that doesn't add up to 16), I simply can't see why playing the game in the later slot is an issue at all - especially when you see two east coast teams playing instead. For once, this week, the late kick offs are all east coast games - but when we went to Houston, for example, the Jets were playing in Tennessee in the later kickoff. Switch the two games around!

I'm so anxious for the game to start every Sunday. So starting early is a good thing. Unless the Seahawks lose, than it feels like my heart has been ripped out. I feel empty the rest of the day. Anywho Seattle wins big tomorrow, and I have a enjoyable Sunday with a smile ear to ear. No worries, right?

I've talked a big game all week now I feel a lil concerned. It will pass, yeah, the doubt has passed.

Seahawks 37 and falcons 16.
