Report: Seattle Seahawks hiring ex-UW Huskies coach

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the Seattle Seahawks are hiring former UW Huskies OC Jimmie Dougherty as an offensive assistant.

Word is he is going to assist play calling.

Lie or not, the far more important question is what has he done in the intervening 7 years? Imagine tossing Scot McCloughan because of his drinking problem. Oh wait, we don't have to imagine. Thankfully, Schneider has matured into an equally formidable evaluator of talent.

People are making this OC thing out to be more than it is. Bringing in Fleury and signing the receivers and bringing back every single piece offensively aside from Walker is obviously in line with retaining the system. The Hawks will pound the rock and pass with efficiency. They were 27th in passing attempts last year as a unit but number 1 in efficiency.

Perhaps it wasn't his intention but it really seemed like he was trying to throw cold water over this hiring much like that AnimeDunce guy was trying to do in regards to the Rashid Shaheed re-signing.
