Yep also of interest is the "Geno can't play against good defenses" crowd of excuse makers.
I'm still on the "Geno doesn't excel under pressure and in the second half" train. The TD in under a minute at the end of the half goes a long way towards changing my mind. I'm ready and hoping for him to change my mind on the second half thing.

Defense sucks this year so far, but he's ceded a healthy amount of control to some smart dudes and I'm willing to give it time

In the meantime, the FO just made the best decision in the entire league to move on from Russ and have his backup playing nearly MVP level football
Pete's standing in their way.

just a history of terrible takes.

maybe i was right when i called him a bay area 49er fan
Going with a small sample size on Geno who hasn't even started a full season yet. I'm still pivoting as I've seen enough.

A much worse take is continuing to defend Pete's terrible defense, even though we have seasons of data.

There was also this, from Pittpnthrs

Geno's completion percentage is great,,,,if all you want are 5 to 6 yards passes. Thats what everybody was wanting so I guess people got their wish. The problem with that is it doesnt equate to wins. Two games and no scoring for 6 quarters and his passing yards havent exceeded 200 yet. You cant win with those kind of numbers. You just cant.

Not exactly the same, but close enough.

great first half for Geno.

The current game situation is where I lack confidence in him. Seahawks are down, momentum favoring the opponent. It won't help that Penny is out.

Please, Geno, make me look like an idiot.

Cowardly check down on 3rd down there.

It's 3rd down. Hold the ball and try to make a play. A sack won't kill you there, as you're punting anyway if you don't get it.

The guy was wide open on the left when Geno ran out of bounds on 3rd down. Wilson would have been crucified for it, but fans here will say Geno made the right decision. It is what it is.

Pete's defense is canceling out any good Geno has done. Geno would be the story of the NFL.

Quite an arrogant way of saying you were wrong. Pivot lol.

Right, Geno does it one time and all of a sudden we have to crucify him like Wilson. Wilson didn't take any heat for all the nonsense he pulled here. He was also the highest paid QB. Alot of people expected Geno to play how Wilson is playing for the broncos so him missing a receiver here and there is to be expected.

He missed DK. He was open if the throw was on time. That hesitation allowed the DB to make up ground.
If this was Wilson, we would be saying oh no one is getting open and the offensive line sucks. I can cut Geno some slack given he is playing above expectations and he is getting paid way less than Wilson.
