In my way too early MVP candidates list, I have the following names so far.

1. Josh Allen
2. Sam Donald
3. Patrick Mahomes
4. Geno Smith

What do you all think of Geno's chances as a potential MVP candidate so far?

Not the stone-cold lock Coach Mac would be for COY right now, but he'd be firmly in the conversation. He's darker than those other guys you mentioned.

Stats aren't going to support him currently with a 3/3 TD/INT ratio. MVP needs to have big stats and he's going to need to step it up to get his hat in the ring.

Have Seahawks scored 30+ points per game? Nope. Just 26 vs Donks, 23 vs Pats, and 24 vs Fins. Not that it's all about the final score, but personally, I would feel silly suggesting Geno as an MVP candidate with those "low-ish" final scores to date. Maybe it would start to have some merit after a few 30+ final scores. All attributable to the offense. Which could very well happen. (And I actually expect we'll have a few 40+ final scores this year, especially with our D.) But until then. I know scoring in the NFL is hard, but we're talking MVP, an award awarded to just one player.

Really he is a dark horse. Just think that really he is so underrated. He never complained about losing his job nor anything else despite going all over the league. Before landing a home in Seattle.

Cross has Turf Toe. Hold your horses. Geno will be routinely throwing off his back foot in no time. That is what relentlessly hurried quarterbacks do.

No, I wouldn't have him in the conversation yet... but I really don't know how you have Patrick Mahomes as third.

He's not in the top 10 on any advanced metric and is actually below average for most.

He's not having a good season to this point.

Pretty sure that was last year.
Look at the very first post of the Jason Peters thread. If we are going to break with two-year-old information, then we have to expect a reciprocal response to it.

He needs to put together a complete season. He's only put in spells of it for about half a season

nope, doesn't have the stats. TD to INT ratio is bad. He looks good but you need gaudy stats to go with it.

MVP candidates are made in prime time through weeks 10-12.

By then you've got enough info on who's doing well and then if they perform for a national audience, they get the vote. No one is an MVP candidate in week 4.
