He just seemed to not pull the trigger today and didn’t play to his standard. He hung on way too long over and over when he had guys who were open. He was off today and it’s ok to admit that. It happens to everyone

The line gave him time most of the game too which is a good sign for things moving forward.
I've watched a lot of all 22 this season to figure out why Geno can't get it done in the redzone. Unfortunately one of the main reasons was the Seahawks have so few designed "quick passes". They actually had two this game -- the one to DK which DK has to win his matchup and the one to Fant which Geno missed. Really good plays that for one reason or another were not executed. I hope they do more.

But in general one of the big issues that Geno rarely has a safety crossing route like 5-7 yards downfield -- a lot of times they have a receiver/rb in the flat which is not where Geno is looking. A lot of deep posts and slow developing routes that our receivers refuse to find holes in the defense. Instead of finding space I feel like our receivers are either told or just naturally follow the lines written on the playsheet regardless of the defense. Look at the play to DK where he got hurt -- if he straightens that route out a bit he's wide open, but instead he continues his route TO the safety.

Also, many of the times where receivers finally do get open is about the 3-4 second mark, when Geno is under pressure at like 2.5 seconds. I think the biggest problem with Grubb's gameplan is not relying on more crossing routes 5-7 yards -- especially with big body receivers like DK. We need more designed quick shots, which I think we tried a few more times but Geno was also off on those short routes today.

Geno did what Geno does today, he placed some beautiful balls, he battled and he also didn't react quickly enough to some pressures (and of course the 4th and goal he runs to the wrong side).

Good post and I agree with most of it

I think Geno was just off today and it happens. He under threw DK on the would be touchdown and he normally makes that throw. He missed Fant in the red zone that could’ve lost us the game and he usually makes that throw too. Even when he was completing passes today they were often off and guys had to stop or reach back. He just wasn’t on. To his credit he didn’t make the huge mistake either that leads to a pick. He also made a couple throws when we needed him to. But man he just held on way too long and when we went back and rewatched on multiple occasions he had someone open and just wasn’t pulling the trigger. I don’t get it.

Grubb needs to get better too for sure.

I don't disagree with any of that.

Geno went 20-31 201 for 1/0 TD/int and 3 sacks against the #2 pass defense in the league and #8 in sacks.

I think the coverage was tight and he was rightfully trying to avoid the pick.

I know many here think that anything short of perfection is a sign of failure and ineptitude when the only thing that really matters is Geno lead another comeback game winning drive.
The refs led that drive c’mon

I really think one of Geno’s problems is he doesn’t roll out. And he doesn’t run. Maybe he doesn’t throw well on the run. He just stands there. And then today he was running for his life and still wouldn’t take off. I think he can run. He just doesn’t. Even Patrick Mahomes runs, even Erin booger picker runs. Matthew Stafford moves outside the pocket. And then he doesn’t read pressure but he just stands there in the collapsing pocket. Geno is a strange case. He seems to have a lot of talent but something is missing

Having the ability to "reset" after the stupid plays, come back despite throwing a pick is an invaluable intangible that Geno has more than most QBs. Had he been more mature and in a better situation as a rookie, he'd have been "elite". As is, on a better team, he could get it done.

I guess it's that much overused word, that I despise "poise". (Damn I HATE that word!)
It’s cause he has a lot of practice in it. He leads the league in coming back from interceptions

Geno is literally #2 in yards passing -- he's been able to run the ball up and down the field. What he (the team) has been absolute shit at is the redzone.

Why do people act like the Seahawks offense didn't do anything in this game?
They did do a little bit for sure. I feel like the run game is close to getting it. They had multiple plays where they were close to breaking one and they have a long one called back. It's still not good but I think you can build off of it?

Geno also didn't turn the ball over against a tough defense which if he does that we will have a chance to win every week. He's way too tentative to me which is weird because its not something he normally does but he has to let go on some of those contested throws.

The same guy who came and met with Russ in Pittsburg and try way spent the whole pregame together?

At least Russ doesn’t get his jaw broken for being a douche by a teammate.

Nah, pete stopped the LOB from so much as looking wrong at Russ. Dude lived in a bubble. To act like he was liked by those guys during that period...

Russ was in many ways a far bigger douche than whatever idiocy led to Geno getting smacked.

If Geno played with those guys I could see Percy Harvin or Earl Thomas punching him. Not saying it would be the right thing to do but I could see it happening.

Based on my reading, a young Geno had a problem with one guy over money or a loan. The result was a broken jaw. It was sensational and led to a media frenzy, costing the team the use of a quarterback for months. Wilson had problems with many in the locker room, which led to Pete having to put a no-criticizing order and eventually breaking up the defense.

Wilson and Geno had locker-room issues, but I think Geno's problem was the lesser of two evils.

You’re wrong man. Kam, Thomas, KJ, Avril etc have all come out in support of Russ.

Russ is a douche but Geno isn’t? His teammate broke his jaw because he refused to give money he owed back to a guy making the league minimum while he had millions. He just got a DUI. Russ was solid to everyone. I have a friend who works with the team so I get to hear some cool stuff and this is flat out wrong. You don’t like Russ and that’s cool but I’m not a fan of the character assassination personally.

Yeah this isn’t true. Almost every teammate loved Russ. Who is many? Russ was a super religious guy who didn’t drink or party.

The defense broke itself up when Sherman couldn’t stay healthy and was calling out the OC in multiple post game interviews. We all know what Thomas did at the end. We’re now claiming Russ for that? Seeiously?
