Supposedly Marshawn moseys his way over to him and says something like, "wait, YOU'RE SAD!!", and started clowning Russell pretty hard.

Too funny.

RW gets a bonus partially based on the percentage of snaps he plays. ($200,000 or so last year?) Last year against the Cards he looked miserable when he was benched.

I wanted him out of there for all of the big picture reasons and was happy when he came out.

Funny that he didn't want to come out, and finding out Peyton stayed in after the fact probably stung too.

Peyton had time to throw. Russell should talk to Cable about getting some pass pro if he ever wants to stay in games after we get up by a lot. The way RW has to run for his life, heck yeah you yank him the second it's out of reach. If Russ had decent protection they might be inclined to let him stay in there and pile it on.

I'm the same way. Super-ultra competitive. I threw javelin in high school and my coach would beg me to stop practicing because she didn't want me to blow out my arm. If I ever had to stop, I got pretty upset about it.

Although he'll probably never admit it, you can bet Russell wanted to run up the score on the Jags and pad his stats badly ... after all, he wants to be the best.

I think javelin catching would be more fun to watch.

I tell ya what, Russ.....lay down 45 points in Houston and you can stay and play as far as I'm concerned! No former coach to protect.

Upon DVRing this game, the moment RW came out...stood out.
It was hard to hear but it sounded like Bevell said to TJ "Even though you don't know what is going on, get" unintelligible from then.
I also saw Giac talk to RW saying something like "Other quarterback" unintelligible...and RW looked pissed.

Pete made the right call. Our pro QB wants to stay in the game cuz that's what he does, but Russ did appear bent.

You may be correct, but when I heard Bevell (I assume that's who it was, not 100% on that) telling T-Jack to get ready, it sounded like he said that WE don't know what's going on yet, an insinuation that the coaches hadn't decided if it was time to start putting in backups or not. At least that's how I interpreted it.

They actually showed both of these conversations on NBC Sports' "NFL Turning Point." The sidelines/Wilson was mic'd up. I can attest to the T-Jack convo on the bench. As kidhawk says, Bevell was just telling T-Jack that even though the coaches don't know what they were gonna do yet, that T-Jack should get up and start throwing the ball around, getting loose.

As far as Giacomini talking to Russ, it showed him asking Russ if he was alright. At that point in the game, Russ was pulled, so Breno was just checking in with him to see if he's hurt or what's going on.

Nah dude he is rocking lots of different endorsements I am sure he is being well compensated. He is just a true competitor and doesn't care what the score is. He is the leader of this team and wants every single snap. He is a baller and we are lucky to have someone who is as serious and driven during a blow as he is when he is driving down for a 4th quarter comeback.

Hahaha could you imagine if we traded him AGAIN?! That would be pretty funny honestly. How often does a player get traded from the same team twice in 1 1/2 years? I hope he stays a while though, he is a pretty solid backup and person to have in the locker room.

I understand perfectly. I'm the same way. And I'd think for him, as it is for me, that it's not a mindset of "running up the score" even though you obviously know that's what you're doing. It's more like "we need more points. Put more points on the board. I know we're up by a lot, but just a few more points anyway."
After those two turnovers, he didn't want to leave the game with that weighing on his mind, that is the mark of a "Perfectionist"
It galled him that he'd made those mistakes, and he wanted to prove that it was a fluke that they happened to him.

It ain't about padding his stats at all.
He lives for DOING it, not remembering it.
One game at a time.
One sick kid at a time.
One taught kid at a time.
One signed ball at a time.
One at a time.

Then he does it again,
one at a time.

Me thinks the main reason Wilson had his helmet on was to hear the plays being called. He does have a speaker in his helmet.
