This would make a lot of sense. He's highly regarded as a zone/boundary guy. The more Witherspoon is able to play near the hash facing the line of scrimmage, the better.

He earned one decent contract - so someone had faith in his abilities at some point. If he had considerable games played clauses or health clauses (if there is such a thing) in his contract he might be worth a shot.

I wonder if they didn't like what they saw from Shaq Griffin then.
Isn't Shaq mostly an outside guy? but lacking some of the need for it? Maybe they asked him to slot it up and he said no? Possibly?

Suspect it’s more about money with Griffin, all of these guys at this stage are looking for the right fit and the best available deals for them. Each have some injury background.

Yep, very likely a money thing with Griffin. Can't blame a guy for getting what he can on possibly his last deal. And there's nothing wrong with adding depth at corner, this team needs it.

I like Rasul to compete with Jobe. Didn't want Shaq really. Ironically, found an article from Dec 2024 where Rasul got injured and allowed a Kupp TD.
