They may as well add Ahmad Bradshaw and hell even Reggie Bush, just have an entire backfield of over the hill, 30 year old running backs.

Sproles and Frank Gore don't scare anyone.

Writing was on the wall....but sad day for me. Frank is my all-time favorite Niner.

From a sentimental side, I understand 49er fans being sad.

But from a football standpoint, I don't see this as a bad thing. They have their replacement in place with Hyde, so this just gives him his chance to shine.

I wonder how his stamina will be running a hurry up offense the entire game. A few players have said its extremely difficult.

I agree....just sad to see him go.

I get the salary cap logic and the need to utilize Hyde, but it will take years to even come close to replacing what gore provided at the Rb spot.
The guy is a warrior.
Same day will come for Hawks fans when Marshawn retires just more so.
You don't really replace people like Gore and Beastmode.

Very well put. Always respected Gore and the way he plays.

Yep. I'm hoping that on game days Gore jerseys have the same legacy that Montana, Lott, Rice, and Young jerseys get.

I'm unsentimental enough to have been saying (wrongly) that last year was the time to move on, but sheesh, I really love Gore. I hope he balls out with the Eagles.

It's funny, the Eagles will probably save 4 mill on his contract compared to what they would have paid McCoy. Yet when you look at last years stats, they are suprisenly similar except McCoy had about 50 more carries. I think Gore has 1100-1200 yds next year as long as he stays healthy.

I like the move for Gore and Chip. Power backs and the spread go together like mac and cheese. It seems like that shouldn't be the case, but it is.

I too think he may have a big statistical year with the Eagles. This gives him an opportunity to see a lot more 20-carry games than he did with the Niners last year.

I want Chip to bring back Tiki and Emmitt, also nab MJD and BJGE.

Sign 11 RBs and start them all at the same time. Let's see what his offense can really do.

Really dunno how its gonna work for Frank.

He's been a "pitch count" kinda guy for a few years now. He's been given days off from practice and he's still been wearing down at the end of the year.

Now he's in THAT offense? Love the guy and I wish him the best...but I have my doubts.
