Special teams were not good this year but maybe Mcdonald thinks he will grow into it.

There was a massive change in how special teams was played for everyone. Everyone is learning as they go, all 32 teams. Give him the offseason to study not just how this team does special teams but what worked across the league and make changes accordingly.
Some of the player execution stuff I'm willing to discount
Coverage has some very spotty moments and was vulnerable within games to repeated failures in the same area indicating a lack of in game adjustment
The fake did go off well though
Pressure on opposing kicks was a mixed bag
The thing that I couldn't get around was the amount of times when fielding punts within the 5 the returner would just fair catch it - frequently not under any pressure. Was multiple returners and all seasons - seems like a low value play, try to show their gunners down a bit but get out of the way and make them execute pining the team back
