Why 5 yds and first down compared to spot foul?

IIRC it used to be spot of the foull... but i gave up trying to understand it. It feels like a rule that's been changed multiple times to help offenses.

Isnt one defensive holding while the other is actually interfering with them making the catch without playing the ball? Defensove holding should be 5 yards while pi should be spot foul.

I believe the word catchable plays a part

DPI is when the ball is in the air and the targeted receiver is interfered with.

I think they changed the call to defensive holding.
