gotta say reading some of these comments turns the stomach. I wasn't thrilled with the teams full game effort vs the cards but I believe enough in this team to think we're every bit as good as the teams that are in this hunt with us. This isn't like in years past where I thought we would definitely be going to the big show but it's still a year i think we can get there as likely as any of the top threats. Some of you are acting like we're the niners right now.

Look Im not immune to my own doubts about this team but to act like we have no shot is crazy. Why even be a fan if your gonna have that attitude? Seems like a waste of time and energy at that point to me. If I had no hope I wouldnt watch.

Fans can be realistic though. I never understood why it needs to be all rainbows and unicorns all the time or your not a real fan. How can anybody be happy and content with the way this team is playing right now?

We have a shot and other teams have reasons to fear playing us. Enjoy.

Not really, but I enjoy your enthusiasm. This team will be super lucky to beat the 49ers Sunday.

PS one of tge major differences I see between this team and past is fan base is not behind this team as it was before. 12s used to be monster. Now the fan energy is bogged down by shitty attitudes. Get behind your team 12s and see what happens.

I've never heard it louder or seen more support during the Cardinals game. What did that magically accomplish?

As usual many of you are more optimistic then I, the crap o-line and inconsistency that has become a staple of out defense is a large area of concern. I mean in the Cards game our offense was crap and the defense kept it close, 2nd half our offense gets things together and then the defense falls apart. It was a snapshot of our entire season. We are way to inconsistent to make any noise I believe.

People saying Seattle isn't scary or are done is ridiculous. I know we had a tough loss this weekend but this team is still capable of beating everyone.

Then we get to see all the "Ill eat my crow and like it threads" Even better, if we lose, how right they were.

Why anyone would want to be right for a guaranteed lose prediction is beyond me.

Reputation goes a long way. And this in no way means I think that the Seahawks play dirty. They don't, but they play tough. I'm thinking Richard Sherman's hit on Jared Goff trying to sneak in for a TD... no free points awarded...

I wonder if some are thinking 'damn, Goff, Romo and Gronk', do I want to the be next to come out of a Seahawks game with a career limiting injury?

Never say never - but if you had to bet the house, would you bet on the Hawks making the Super Bowl this time around?

(That is if you actually like your current house)

I'd have to say no. Hopeful? Yes.

Probable? No.

We just lost to a team with 5 wins at home mind you in a must win situation. The Browns just beat a 5 win team. Hmmmm

I don't care who wins. As long as its not the Patriots, Cowboys or Green Bay....which sadly will most likely be one of those 3. I can't stand Rodgers and his arrogance. He was laughing and smiling the whole damn game against us....even yawning on the sidelines.

Apparently, some of the only people NOT scared of playing the Seahawks in the playoffs, especially at home, are people typing into the echo chamber called Seahawks.NET.

Actual NFL players say they really don't want to play the Seahawks, and we dismiss their opinions because... we know better than they do?

Let me ask you this, would you put your house on any other team besides us?

do you trust the pats without gronk? do you trust the cowgirls with 2 rookie leaders in the biggest games of their lives? do you trust it on green bay? we may not be the overwhelming favorites but there isn't one, this is as wide open a year as ive seen. Everybody seems vulnerable.

It's like everyone is forgetting that every other NFC team has major flaws as well. Dallas, GB and WAS all have really horrible defenses. GB and Dallas are winning because their offense is scoring 30-40 pts a game and making the defensive play moot.

ATL is probably the most well rounded team right now with Quinn getting that defense into decent shape, but they have struggled throughout the season.

Detroit, NYG and us are all struggling on offense. Actually none of that list has anything resembling a run game which is the major issue. All are currently being bailed out by their QBs. The NFC playoffs are going to be interesting. I think we will win our home game and then lose on the road, as it has been all season.

What we are considering a down season, a lot of other teams would be excited for. We're in the playoffs and anything can happen. Look at what Baltimore did a few years back, they lost the last few regular season games and then went on a run. If our team plays up to their potential we can beat anyone.

This is a great post. If there's ever a year for a team as flawed as Seattle to win the NFC, it's this one.

The Patriots are another matter. Which is probably why a lot of people are wringing their hands. They will be in the Super Bowl and everyone knows it.

Here's another thing to hang your hats on though, what other playoff team is trying out and signing RB's, WR's, and DB's at this juncture of the season? Its week 17 and the time to get hot is over. Just too many obstacles to overcome this season.

Everybody's speaking of weaknesses, exactly what is the Seahawks strength right now? Lets do a checklist.

Weaknesses-

OL is the worst in the league
Nonexistent running game
A depleted secondary that cant cover anybody
Special teams are horrendous
An OC that cant game plan correctly and causes us to waste quarters and even halves on offense
Injuries to key players (Rawles, Thomas, Lockett)
Players that are disgruntled towards the coaching staff

Strengths -

Wilson although he has been inaccurate the majority of the season
Linebackers playing out of their minds
Bennett and Avril for the most part

Am I missing anything? That's more glaring weaknesses than any other team I believe. Just doesn't look good this year.

Those guys are over blowing it for sure. Nobodys afraid of Seattle right now. If I were a team in the NFC playoff picture, Seattle is exactly the team I would want to play. Why wouldnt I, they are playing their worst football.

Possibly because they've played better football over the entire year than all but two teams.

And lucky to be in one of the weakest divisions in football.

A division they've gone 2-2-1 in.
Seattle are 7-3 outside of that weak division. This isn't a "5-0 against a weak division and 4-6 against other opponents" team (like, for example, the absolutely certain to be one and done Texans). We've got by far the worst record against divisional opponents of any playoff team. Only the Cowboys, Patriots and Raiders have won more games against non-divisional opponents than we have. And our 3 losses have come against teams with a combined record of 24-21, hardly scrubs. One at one of the toughest places to win in pro football (and somewhere we will not have to play in the playoffs barring a complete breakdown against the niners) and the other 2 in two of the furthest stadiums from Seattle the team can play

The ESPN 980 jocks here in Redskins land are obviously discussing the possible wildcard berth with a win over the Giants. I believe they would then travel to Seattle, Atlanta, Green Bay or Detroit depending on who takes care of week 17 business. Former tight end Chris Cooley without hesitation said, Oh nooooooo. I don't want to go to Seattle. Then who the other guys asked. Ahh. Don't really care just don't want to go to Seattle. What about their inconsistent this and that? Don't care. I guarantee you they will be up for that game he said. It was almost comical how he said it with fear dripping from his voice. I'll add more specific comments to the thread later as I hear them this week. Kind of cool to step out of the Hawks media and blog orbit to hear the buzz out there.

On a separate note, got a Men's medium Nike Jimmy Graham jersey that is too small for me for Christmas. Will sell for $50. It fit my 6' 140 lb son nicely. Way too tight on my middle aged frame. Email directly if interested.

OP here again. Two new guys on the air today subbing for Cooley and Kevin. Nick says he picked Seattle as the place to avoid when discussed a month ago, but now it's probably Atlanta. Couldn't decide which team out of all the NFC which he feared most in the playoffs. Tim said that he'd rather travel to Atlanta than Seattle because of that whole crazy atmosphere and their history with them in the playoffs (Seattle). They both would most like to play Detroit by a long shot. They fear the Packers more than the Cowboys, but hedged a bit because they kicked their butt earlier this season.

Tim added when weighing the whole field: Giants-don't know what the hell they are from week to week, able to outscore the packers last time, but they are now on fire, Lambeau not conducive to their offense, Cowboys obviously good but they almost beat them twice and the rookies may not preform under the bright lights, Skins could definitely knock them off, Lions are very beatable, Seahawks are crazy banged up and not the team they used to be. Not surprised if the Skins beat or lost to any of them.

Richard Sherman. And you need to provide weighting to your list of strengths and weaknesses. Wilson+Bennett+Avril+Sherman are weighted with an order of 10 multiplier to any of the so-called weaknesses.
Note to other teams vying for Superbowl LI. Be afraid of Seahawks come playoff time.

Patriots won't be, I think Kansas City, as far as us, getting a bye would be nice but this team has rallied and I am sure it will rally again. I am not being crazy, I am just believing in a team that gave fans so much to believe in. One season few games none of which would waver me of not believing. This team is truly set up as the next man up, so if injuries as an xfactor, we have as much of a chance to go and win the whole damn thing.

What about Richard Sherman. Even he's been getting torched lately. As for providing something, watch a game. That's should be proof enough.

Note to the other teams vying for Superbowl LI, don't worry too much about the Seahawks. They wont be there after the 2nd round.
