The Oregon Ducks dominated the sad UW Huskies, covered the spread and won by double digits, rolling to the college football playoff! Ducks playing meaningfully football, uw irrelevant. Ouch.

Cut with the "destroy". Destroy was when the Huskies beat the Ducks 70-21 in 2016 and 38-3 in 2017.

It seems to me Oregon is turning into more of a defensive team that grinds the clock frequently running. In many of our previous teams like Kelly, Belloti etc al we have been more of a passing team. Softer on d in a race to throw outscore people. This should serve us well controlling TOP and playing good defense. I was a bit worried about the Huskies passing game but Oregon shut that down.

On another note...watching this Auburn/Alabama game...JFC...the refs just butted their heads in and gifted Alabama a couple of first downs on a late game drive. Really annoying when the refs play a bigger role in the game at a critical time than the players.

You have to outplay the refs Mr Holmgren. It's part of the game. Lamenting perceived slights is incurable; while persevering is winning.

Destroy? Hardly. I watched the entire game as a Huskies fan with my Ducks fan fiancée. Yes the Ducks were the better team but 26-14 is hardly destroying.

Nice hyperbole though. 🙄

It was difficult for my wife (Huskies fan) to root for the Ducks. She had her fall back team in Notre Dame though. I would like the Ducks to play the Fighting Irish or Alabama in the CFP. In our household having two rooting interests in the CFP is important.

It felt like UW got their hearts destroyed in this game, losing to their bitter rival who will be advancing to the post season while UW plays in the McDonald's Mickey Mouse Outback Steak bowl

Destroy?
If anything, the Ducks showed how unimpressive they are this year. It was a close game until roughly the 4th. The Ducks didn't even dominate, which is weird (Remember the Huskies are the same team that lost to freaking Wisconsin!). Beating the Huskies should be a given- especially with our best WR and best RB injured and essentially ineffective.

The Ducks have much better coaches and a better roster - this game shouldn't have been as close as it was for as long as it was. The Huskies are mediocre. The Ducks have shown themselves to be better than mediocre.
Seems like you were going for a bigger flex but that's the truth. We're middle of the pack in the Big 10. You're maybe the 3rd best team in the Big 10. So congrats?

Oregon didn’t dominate without their top 3 WRs? Gave up 280 yards of offense. And if not for a dumb decision to not take the 20 second runoff, and a lucky 4th and 8 TD throw, it should have been 34-3. With DAK and Gary Bryant, the huskies couldn’t have loaded the box, then it would have gotten even uglier.

And that’s not even getting into the BS not giving JMac the catch against his helmet. Which was 100% a catch. UO probably scores on the series also.

The catch against the helmet was ruled an incomplete pass on the field. To overturn a call on the field there has to be indisputable evidence of it, or twelve drunk guys in a bar have to agree it should be overturned.

I saw all the replays and I COULD NOT say the call on the field should be overturned with conviction. If anything, I leaned a bit more toward the call on the field, as it looked more to me that the ground was used to complete the catch than not, though it was certainly close.

No way was there indisputable evidence to me that the call on the field should be overturned.

No, Oregon absolutely didn't dominate.

They were held to well below their season averages in both points and yards. They were held to 2.5 yards per carry on 42 rushing attempts. Adam Mohammed had as many rushing yards on 14 carries as the entire Oregon team did on 42 carries.

Oregon is supposedly one of the best teams in the country and UW is an unranked middle of the pack Big Ten team, and yet the score was 19-14 with less than 10 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. Oregon fans consider that dominating? Lol.

And that 4th and 8 TD pass wasn't remotely lucky. It was a good play call, executed well, and Oregon just simply got beat on that play. Zero luck involved.

Oregon played well enough to win, but it was far from dominant or impressive for a fringe top 5 team. If they play like that against a good team in the CFP, they're not going very far.

Congrats on finishing as the 3rd best team in the conference, though.

Yep.

'Dominant' teams don't kick that many FGs. Certainly when not up by at least 3 TDs. But the Ducks did win. Which makes sense, given who we have lost to and how we have lost.

It was still a game in the 4th quarter. DOMINANT teams have the game essentially over by halftime.
Then again, maybe a close game with lots of FGs is what Duck fans think 'Dominant' means?

Including a pick in the end zone. Destroy my a**

Typical Quack fan. Can't wait to see them get knocked out in the playoff, as usual. F the ducks. There was no destroying going on. Better team and coach, absolutely. Destroy? GTFO with that crap. Geezus.

I don’t know about all that. The Ducks aren’t even good enough to play in the Big ten title game so go put your third place trophy up on your fireplace mantle

The most arrogant fanbase in all of college football. And it's not even close.

11 and 1 is really good. I am looking forward to the playoff games. Ducks finished ranked in the top 6. I will take that anytime. It's good for the team, the coaches and the school. Recruiting is and will be top ranked. Winning is winning. Lets go win a playoff game!
