He's like 280. And he's not James Harrison. I don't see it either.Jones doesn’t have the speed and athleticism to play edge

May be a better fit for him.
Holy smokes why did we pay this dude so much money. Overpay by the Hobbit againWhen Jones came out of Ohio State he was 250 lbs so I can only assume he has gotten slower. Jones was a tweener small as a DT and too slow as a DE/Edge. I don’t expect Jones to last past 2024 right now just filling a spot
At the time Seattle was severely under maned on the DL and they were desperate kinda like this past free agency OG were being overpaid. You do what you have to do to plug holesHoly smokes why did we pay this dude so much money. Overpay by the Hobbit again![]()
Was he? He was 281 at the combineWhen Jones came out of Ohio State he was 250 lbs so I can only assume he has gotten slower. Jones was a tweener small as a DT and too slow as a DE/Edge. I don’t expect Jones to last past 2024 right now just filling a spot

You can't judge Dremont based on his last 2 years on one of the worst defenses in the NFL, with plays being called by one of the worst DCs in this teams history.
I'm sure that other poster is just making things up. Common trait around here for the disgruntled. What Jones?
Dre'Mont Jones was listed at 286 lbs in the 2018 Ohio State Football Media Guide (the one for Jones's final season at Ohio State) and measured at 281 at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine. And at that point, he may have actually been significantly slimmed down, because while he was listed at 280 lbs in the 2015 and 2016 media guides for Ohio State's football team, he was listed at 295 (!!!) in the 2017 guide, and that's the measurement that ended up on his page at Sports-reference.com's college-football site.
That listing for 2017 could be wrong, but in any case, it seems clear that the last time Dre'Mont Jones saw 250 was before he went to Ohio State, and it was probably before his junior year of high school.

Classic Pete overpay just as he did with a collection of others.Holy smokes why did we pay this dude so much money. Overpay by the Hobbit again![]()
When it gets to that point you draft, use udfa's, or players cut.At the time Seattle was severely under maned on the DL and they were desperate kinda like this past free agency OG were being overpaid. You do what you have to do to plug holes
I guess it's a shot to nothing if he can't play the 5-tech.He proved that he doesn't have the size and strength to be a 3-4 DE. So may as well give him a shot to be 3-4 OLB.

I think Mike Morris could be an important piece this season.
