I don't watch the college game at all so I have zero opinion about Simpson. But I trust Mcvay's ability to evaluate a QB more than I do any forum poster or TV pundit.

But…2027 is loaded with QBs. I’m shocked that they’re willing to risk it either way with Stafford still at the helm.

Rookies can have an impact. Ask #3 from the Hawks about that.

I'll take my chances with what Simpson turns into in future years. I'm glad they didn't get another piece to the puzzle for this current roster to make themselves even better

I love college football and he is the classic all intangibles QB who disappears in bigger games. He really was very good at QB but, even more important, is he was better than every other QB not named Mendoza in this year's draft. So somebody was going to get him. All the rumors were that AZ wanted to trade into late first to grab him but Rams had other plans.

I'd love to know if the Rams tried to trade down and couldn't OR if they just wanted him so bad they picked him way earlier than expected. Time will tell if this is a great pick or not. But, with such a small sample size of only a year of college football, my guess it is not a great pick. I'm thinking a really good backup to low caliber starter.
