Honestly - if there's one player that I miss the MOST who's come through the Hawks - it's ADB. Yea, there's lots of others - but I was just posting something about him the other day in another thread and thought 'God Damn - I miss that dude'. "I don't have a chip on my shoulder - I have a BOULDER" :)

Highlights

(love the mugging and the pedestrian average receiver clap back NFC championship game!)

More Highlights

And of COURSE (recently posted) the one handed Vikings catch:

Didn't know he was up to this - and off seahawks.com to boot:

And just a general news search about him:

Best miced up moment that I've ever seen.

Starts at 1:39 mark with Bennet. Then ADB coaching Russ:

"Look at me. It's one play at a time. Alright? There's no rushing ANYTHING. We are going to FOLLOW you! You LEAD us, OKAY? Like I told you before, you lead us through the darkness and we will follow you!"

Glad I found it. Still gives me chills. And the words "through the darkness" are my interpretation - mic was a bit choppy.

I have one thing against Baldwin, he didn't stick around long enough. He still had gas in the tank. He WAS GOOD bordering on greatness.

The average NFL career is about 3 and a half years. Sometimes your body just tells you it's time. I have zero problems with a player deciding when it's time to hang em up.

Too bad our QB didn't have his Moxie, that team would have ran headlong into a train for him if he did.

This team was very fortunate to have both Baldwin & Lockett on the roster, even if their time as teammates was short-lived. The on-field production from both of them speaks for itself, but their attitudes, different as they are from each other, are also things I miss about them.

Angry Doug was something to behold, you would hope some ESPN analyst was gonna criticize him, cause if they did, you knew he was gonna shut them up.

His grit is legendary, but physically, that first step was one of the nastiest moves in the NFL. He was breaking ankles “NBA style” against some of the more dominant DB’s in the league. No doubt he is on the Mt. Rushmore of under rated Seahawks.

Watching those …JFC , we had a good team for about a five year period didn’t we?

I don't have a problem with him or others, but it leaves a question behind. Just how much more could he have accomplished? Baldwin seemed like he was here, then he was gone. It's been a while since someone good has hung around. Jerry Rice played into his late 30's and was still great. Larry Fitzgerald played late too. I just kept thinking Doug was going to be one of those 15 year players. The team missed him. The problem is, we expected DK to be as good as DB, but he never became that. DB is a rare player.

Every player has their reason for leaving. Just because we wanted him to keep going, doesn't mean he wasn't ready to go. These guys likely have a lot more injuries than we even know. Some want to just be able to walk correctly and spend more time with their kids. Others may just lose some passion for the game. Others may know they accomplished everything they wanted to and have plenty of money put away.
