Undercover San Francisco police officers will be dressed in New York Giants Gear at Sunday’s 49ers game at Candlestick Park.

According to SFPD Sgt. Mike Andraychak, authorities want to make sure Giants fans are not harassed or threatened at the NFC Championship game.

Andraychak said the enhanced security measures came at the request of the NFL after several complaints by New Orleans Saints fans at last Saturday’s playoffs game.

Reports of rowdy fights and shootings at Candlestick Park after Saturday’s 49ers-Raiders exhibition game keep coming in, and video of some of the incidents have surfaced on YouTube.

One video, posted by YouTube user vfratus23, shows a rowdy group of women brawling in the parking lot. In what appears to be a Niner vs. Raider fan brawl, eventually a group of men start fighting, too.

Another video shows a brawl that broke out inside Candlestick Park, seemingly between to 49er fans. The fight originally appears to be between a Raider fan and a Niner fan until another Niner fan is hit and starts swinging back. Both fighters are wearing Niner jerseys with the number 16.

Yea, that would pretty much make me a girl. No interest in going to shitholes like that. What would be the point? Can't enjoy the game with crap like that going on around you.

My wife's response when we parked in the Candlestick Parking lot: "THIS is where they play? I thought this was a team with a bunch of rings, that's all anyone has said to me since we got here. What a hole, I won't be coming back here until they get a real stadium."

Pretty much says it all. Nice thing is we won that game, and a ton of Hawks fans came from all over the EMPTY (in the 3rd quarter) stadium of "Niner Faithful" and sat in our section behind the end zone. We had the loud "Let's go Seahawks" chant going, good stuff.
Also, when you leave that hole, you are truly driving thru ghetto, and we saw a bunch of cops and a guy who was stabbed in the park, no joke. Oh yeah, and we had gang signs flashed at us as we were driving out of the stadium as well.

Yes, it's not exactly nestled in the best part if town. But this won't be an issue after this season.

When I used to live in the Bay Area and attended Niner games, I never witnessed any violence, just like those of you who say they have never seen violence at C-link. I'm obviously not saying that it doesn't happen, as it obviously does, but to say that it doesn't happen at every stadium to a degree is rediculous.

I will say that when we went to candlestick last year there were multiple people being escorted out by police for fighting/throwing things. Not making that up just being fair. It looked like niner-fan-on-niner-fan violence for the most part though. lol. On the flip side I went to 8 of 10 possible home seahawks games last year and only saw a couple people escorted out the whole season.

I moved to San Francisco a year ago and will going to the Hawks game this year for the first time. I have know idea what to expect. If anybody is interested in meeting up before the game I'm all for it. SOLIDARITY!

One of the strangest things about going to a game at candlestick is that you can't see anything outside of the stadium, just sky. Feels like the game is being played in a floating stadium. I'm used to the city views of Seattle.

A huge group of us from this site met up in 2009 in SF to tear up the town and attend the game.

The tearing up of the town and pre game tailgating were epic. The game was misery, with the crappy stadium, the crappy fans, and the crappy play of Seattle.

I went to the game with my family last year and the fans weren't that bad with the exception of getting some beer cans thrown at us. The most annoying aspect of the 49er game day experience was their no bags policy. No bags are allowed in the stadium and have to be checked. You have (I believe but can't remember for sure) an hour to an hour and a half to claim your bag after the game or it gets disgarded. That's not even the most ridiculous part. Women are allowed to bring their purses in the stadium. Apparently guns and knives etc are too big to fit inside a purse. The bus system after the game was very chaotic. There are no signs that indicate bus routes; only poorly painted numbers on the sidewalk. Even then the buses didn't ever seem to stop at their designated route number. It's martial law when fans try and catch a bus.

I actually have no problem with SF the city. It reminds me a lot of Seattle, actually. The people were all pretty mellow. Sad thing is, that is the first place I've actually seen homeless people sit outside a Burger King and ask for your left overs. And they really mean it, they want them. None of this "need food, but only want cash for drugs/booze" that we normally see.

I was at a McDonald's in SF and a homeless man asked me for a dollar, he told me "I just need some change, so I can put a down payment on a cheeseburger." I gave him a couple bucks because of his creativity.

I have gone once, but that was before we were in the division. I am going this year though and the game in STL. First day of work trip for the week. Oh man.. If the Hawks win?

There is a slight chance that I end up moving to STL for company changes. If this happens, I will be hurtin for my Hawks. Obviously adding NFL Sunday ticket to my DTV subscription and only seeing them one time a season, outside of Seattle. Not being part of the 12th man is going to painful of that is the case.

On one hand, I want to see the Hawks play in their big season. I simply don't think I'll be able to go to Seattle for a game, living in Sacramento.

On the other hand, the only way I can see myself being comfortable at candlestick this year is if I pretend to root for the Niners.

I went to Candlestick in 2006, the year after our Super Bowl run... and the Niners were a 4-5 team at the time. Their fans were still insufferable jackasses.

I wouldn't want to set foot in that s*ithole now with their bandwagon toppling over. I'd wait until the new stadium opens so a lot of those idiots are priced out with the new digs.
